I'll admit I did lose all patience with him after his bottle-job at Norwich (and I'd been largely supportive of him all of last season), but a decent display in the final game (even it was against Sunderland's youngsters) did restore some of my faith - I thought it was his best performance out of his favoured position since Man City at home, and it's no coincidence that his best performances during 2016 (Newcastle and Chelsea at home) have come when he has actually been played central.

I have to say I'm a bit perplexed at all this rejoicing over his supposed impending departure - for better or worse, he IS our best attacking central midfielder when employed properly (many favour Abdi for his greater work rate and defensive play, and the fact he chipped in a couple, but he had zero assists and for me Jurado is comfortably the superior of the two on the ball), so unless we are guaranteed to get a top class player for the €7m in the same position I think getting rid would be a little hasty.

This is why the club is asking so much for Deeney, so they can pay Espanyol 7m Euro's to take the useless little **** off us

Sorry London I for one would prefer Abdi over jurado , Abdi works damn hard , jurado is a luxury player and our team isnt at the stage yet where we can afford to carry a luxury player .

Jurado will be in the top 3 for POTS next season and some on here will have to feel ashamed of themselves

.....however I did make the same bold statement back on the playground in '83 about Charlie Palmer

My comment isn't as unpleasant as 98% of Jurado's performances last season. And as for my manhood I compensate with a flashy sports car.

If Deeney does leave we could do worse than appointing Jurado as the next captain. Very experienced, has a good temperament and will hopefully be playing the majority of our games next season. He also seems to really get the club, has built up a decent rapport with the supporters and is meant to be a very influential figure in the dressing room.

Rumoured to be making a sideways switch to Saracens , where passing backwards is not only encouraged but imperative.

Should be seamless transition between codes for the lad.

No you aren't. I thought so too.

I was most impressed with his goals and assists and that one time he hit the bar.

Jurado; Suarez and Amrabat a trio only outshone by the trio Boothroyd brought us in Ellington; Bromby and Sadler in terms of poor return on the money spent.

Come on, you're making him out to be as bad as Damien Francis, Steve Kabba or half of Vialli's signings. At worse ineffective, but rarely a liability (except at Norwich) but still pretty innocuous - hardly "unpleasant".

I think it's probably time this thread is locked because people can't seem to think of anything constructive left to type on it.

You could've come up with a better comparison - Damien Francis scored quite a few goals and made many more in a struggling side.
Even Kabba scored one against Wolves and laid on a few more in only a dozen or so starts.

Both tackled and tried where the Spaniard wouldn't or couldn't. Steve Kabba was scouting at an under 21 game this season that Oulare was playing in. Oulare and Jurado are as effective as an Ikea wardrobe in comparison with Kabba.

Careful you might offend some on here with those degrading comments. Lol I'd chuck 10p in that fund, hopefully raise enough for him to live under some flyover in Madrid with a cardboard box

If we vote remain, Jurado's fee will be halved by the Pozzo's.

It's not his fault QSF played him out of position most of the time. He's no winger/wide midfielder. He's a creative attacking central MF. I'd like to see how he does in his natural position the hole behind the strikers in Alec Baldwin's new 3-5-2 formation before getting rid.

If he's then still as useful as a chocolate teapot, fair enough, show him the door. Worth a go though IMHO.

Agree - has to be worth seeing him a new tactical setup. He's got pedigree and a nice touch - he "could" play like David Silva in the right formation.

How much did we pay for him? The transfer fee sounds reasonable given he is 30 and just come off a thoroughly underwhelming season and he is likely on high wages?

We are getting €2.5m for "a huge flop". There was a time, not so long ago, where receiving a price tag of that nature would have involved selling one of our very best players. It is a remarkable circle that we are moving in at the moment.
