Can't see us getting rid of Amrabat for anything but a loss.

Suarez still has a reputation to fall back on so will find fans in other Euro leagues, but I'd happily see him stay. I genuinely believe he could become fantastic for us.

Oh please, please, please let it be true, I never want to see him in a Watford shirt again, useless sack of ****.

This a joke? What have you seen to suggest this ........ Apart from Palace in the Cup, he has been dreadful. Weak, poor in possession and no determination. Amrabat has changed a few games but also been poor. Wouldn't be sad to see both go.

This could have been terrible news. WDSports repeatedly told us with their excellent reporting that he is one of the best players to ever play for Watford, as evidenced by his pass completion of over 83%. Weirdly though, when it came to their end of season ratings (when they averaged out all the match ratings across the season) he only got 6.4 and was near the bottom of the performance table, despite their frequent generous ratings in games where the layman wouldn't even noticed him playing, let alone contributing anything positive.

So it appears that the fans who said he wasn't that good were actually right, although it was probably for the wrong reasons as I can't believe the experts at WDSports would've got it completely wrong. Probably best we get rid even though he might have settled next season and torn up the Premier League!

I really want this to happen. I can't put up with another season of trying to shoe-horn him into the team with no success.

Best for all parties if he moves on, even if we have to take a small financial hit.

Wouldn't be shoehorning him in if he played centrally behind the strikers next season.

Strange isn't it, if we had somehow acquired Jurado three seasons ago, we'd be insisting he got in the ice chamber on July 3rd and then the fitness boys would making him run around until his legs were just bloodied stumps, desperate to get some value out of him...now it would be OK if we take a small financial hit (just two or three million quid, ya know)to shunt him off elsewhere. I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment, I just sometimes wonder which team I support.

You don't need to worry. Chances of us getting shot of Suarez on his contract are precisely zero so you'll be able to enjoy him for 4 more years.

To be honest I don't think he is as bad as some make out. Think he is a bit of a scape goat in our team. I've seen matches were players like Capoue have been worse than him and haven't got half the abuse Jurado got.

If we continue to play him out wide I won't lose any sleep over him leaving. Age isn't on his side either.

If we play him more centrally I think he could become a decent PL player.

And Suarez, who Moog is bizarrely suggesting that we keep over Jurado when he's had 17 games to establish himself in the team and Jurado had had a lot more decent games at the equivalent stage of his Watford career (not so much in recent months admittedly, but you could say that about most of our team).

I'm not saying we should definitely get keep/get rid of either, but I'm just baffled as to this overwhelming preference for Suarez over Jurado among some.

He hasn't been great, but there is definitely a good player in there somewhere.

Who cares at this stage. Sell him or keep him. I'm sure either way, he will be a better player under a different manager than Quique

I think Jurado has been unfairly played out of position.

If it wasn't for Watson playing so well we could have seen Jurado dominating games from the middle of the park , instead of being wasted out on the wing.

I guess if Busquets follows Pep to the blue side of Manchester then Jurado may go there as replacement .

Or alrernatively , let's hope those bloody Pozzos have got the sell on clause sorted this time in case Real Madrid come sniffing again .

Suarez has stitched us up like a kipper .

Seriously though , 2 mill per year for 4.5 years and he couldn't even run to the end of my garden without falling over. No wonder Quique got the boot . 10 mill spxnked in one go , with nothing to show for it. His legs are made out of egg boxes left out in the rain .

At least Jurado could keep up with play . Didn't much when he got it admittedly . Even doyley run around with out looking like he's in the wrong age group . Suarez looks like a middle aged man trying to play with 17 year kids at five a side .

Don't like the guy at all but the elation at talk of his sale is kinda weird.

IF and it's a big if, Mazzarri also likes Jurado, then well he must be doing something right so let's see how he gets on in pre-season although my expectations are rather low.

Fair enough, but that's my opinion, though admittedly some of the latter games of the season when my interest had waned completely were when Suarez was supposedly at his worst, and I missed them.

All told, I saw more in Suarez' good patches than in did in Jurado's

I've seen matches where other players have been worse, but I don't recall any other player contributing so little over an entire season despite having one of our best-ever teams around him.

On the Layun thread, you've said that 'you would have expected a player of his calibre to be able to perform [in CM]'. Does the same not apply to Jurado playing as wide midfielder?

Whilst I totally agree he has been played out of position and restricted by the tactics I think the fact he has contributed little more than neat play speak volumes. Rarely did he have a go from outside the area and when he did he didn't often trouble the keeper. As more often than not he would be the most attack minded player behind the strikers and being the teachers pet the whole season I don't think unreasonable to expect some goals and a lot more assists. The same could be said for other MIDs but Abdi and Gueds managed to chip in with a couple goals each.

I don't think we will get away with almost all the goals coming from just the two front men next season and personally would not mind too much if Jurado were to go providing we get a good fee of course. I actually think he will be good for a mid table Spanish side as he will get a lot more time on the ball to pick his passes forward rather than back to Ake. Undoubtedly a decent player there I just think circumstance, timing and perhaps the PL isn't the place for him have played against him with Watford.

A luxury player we couldn't afford to really let play his own game in our first season back in the PL?

To be honest, he doesn't seem to have had much criticism from the crowd at games, just the odd morons that always like to shout at players they don't like.

I would say that part of the reason for the criticism on here is as a reaction to some posters (and a certain news outlet) who were repeatedly saying that he was playing well when he clearly wasn't. There was a very condescending tone towards people who voiced a different opinion, as though they didn't quite appreciate the game properly. Now that it's pretty much universally accepted that he had an underwhelming season, I think some of the posts on here are tongue in cheek but definitely aimed at those who were patronising other people earlier in the season.

My own view is much the same as yours, I don't really care if he stays or goes. I will care if he's continually selected whilst underperforming next season though.

I have always thought that Jurado is a skillful player, and I can imagine him going elsewhere and becoming the star of that team. However for some reason it has not happened for him at WFC, so maybe it is time he tried his luck elsewhere.

As for Suarez, I did not like the look of him before he came to us, and he has done very little to change my opinion of him so far. Therefore if he does not show us his supposed talents by Christmas, I would be very much for trying to off load him in The January window, having said that I would not be unhappy if we were to get rid of him over this Summer!

That was in reference to the Championship. Layun couldn't perform at CM in the Championship.

I would have expected Jurado to perform well as a wide midfielder if he was in a lower league like the Championship.

if we are to play with wide men we need to find younger and quicker ones!

Mind you in a 3-5-2 the wing backs will be trusted to get up and down anyway of course.

I'm sure the Pozzo's have identified far better players than Poorado to play that central role - he can stay as a back up but I doubt he'd want that at 30 years old.

If we're playing 3-5-2 you also need wide men that are incredibly fit and have great positioning/awareness - extremely tough position to play.
