Great to hear after the scary situation.

The quick reactions by officials and medical staff saved him.

UEFA appear to have confirmed he is hospitalised and stable.

    Good old BBC.

A streaker runs on the pitch and they cut away at once.

Somebody on the pitch or in the crowd swears and they apologise at once.

A player fights for his life on the ground with a distressed wife watching on and they continue to show it all.

Great news that’s he’s now awake and stable.

    Phew.

Praise to the fast action of players, officials, and medics. I hope I'm not counting chickens but the collective action could well have saved his life.

How the medical team got him leaving the stadium awake and stable I don't know. Absolute superheroes all of them.

Full credit to his teammates as well in a terrible situation.

The TV companies should be ashamed.

That is a true miracle. I thought he was dead before he hit the ground. Eyes fixed open, unresponsive. The tv pictures were horrific.

I’m so pleased he’s still with us.

I’m glad he’s stabilized and that reports are now positive. Also glad the medics and everyone did whatever they could to bring him back.

I actually think they should have acted faster. As soon the ball came towards him and he towards the ball, you could literally see something was wrong, then when the ball bounced off his knee and he fell face down, it took too long for the Anthony Taylor and the players to respond. Maybe I’m being too harsh. You literally see him stumbling before he collapses, so why on earth they didn’t run as soon as he hit the deck, baffled me. Anthony Taylor and a few of the players were looking right at it.

Anyway, important thing is he’s awake, that’s all what matters and the medics did do their job. However had he not made it, I think an enquiry would have been made about the response time.

Well nobody really knew what was going on. I don't think anyone was being deliberately intrusive. It was a developing situation and mistakes can be made in hindsight.

They showed him receiving CPR and his distraught wife? Cut the feed, go to the studio, show highlights from another game, literally anything than show a man potentially dying on a football field...

I think that’s incredibly harsh…took literally 5 seconds for him to call medics on. But not really a thing to argue or debate over - main thing is he’s alive and in the best possible hands.

Credit must go to Anthony Taylor for how quickly he realised something was wrong and how fast Eriksen received treatment. An absolutely horrific incident, the reaction of both the Danish and Finnish players told the whole story- most of them couldn't bear to look.

The medical staff ALL deserve so much praise. Not only for doing their job but how hard they worked to get him breathing again. The pressure must have been incredible, so well done to everyone involved. Special mention to Kaijer (think that's how it's spelt). His initial actions may just have saved his teammate's life, and then he consoled Eriksen's wife. Hero.

    Speedy recovery Christian!

ITV have just said ‘in a change to the schedule’ and put tipping point on, so assume the Russia game is off?

Supposedly according to Eriksen's father, Eriksen is talking in the hospital.

With press conferences been cancelled as a show of solidarity, I imagine that a whole hour of pre-show is unworkable.

Kampen genoptages kl. 20.30.

Christian Eriksen is awake and his condition remains stable. He remains hospitalized at Rigshospitalet for further examinations.

The match against Finland will be played tonight. This happens after the players have been confirmed that Christian is okay. The match resumes at 20.30.

The players requested it apparently. Massive call, I can't believe the players are in any state to play.

Interesting decision. You’d assume it’s with the consent of the players?

  27. Burnsy

Both sets of players have requested to play in the knowledge that Eriksen is out of danger.

Have no issue with that. I would have done had UEFA not given them a choice.

The exact same thing happened to a client of mine in front of me just over a month ago. Doing some light exercise and suddenly dropped to the ground out of nowhere and went into cardiac arrest. Was absolutely horrific. Difference is he's 65 rather than 29.

Luckily he pulled through, looks like Eriksen will too now.

It was 20 years ago now, but my uncle who didn’t have any sons so got me and my brothers into supporting Watford, dropped dead from a heart attack whilst playing football with his team out in Holland.
