All Moore did was win the headers, I genuinely don't recall him holding the ball up once and I was intentionally looking out for him as well.

I'm someone who has said that I also wouldn't mind signing Moore either, so I'm not just criticizing Moore on this to make Seferovic seem better, but Moore was truly hopeless at holding the ball up today, he wasn't in the game at all aside from his headers.

You say that should be "the bare minimum" for a striker, but none of our current strikers are as good at holding the ball up as Moore based on this season in the Champ, and yet Moore was not nearly as good at holding the ball as Seferovic today. It's a clear point.

On that display alone I wouldn't want either of the two forwards mentioned.

Don’t think his hold up play was anything good tbh. Lost possession 13 times (second most for Switzerland) and had a 60% pass accuracy which was the lowest on the pitch

He's an awful striker. I remember you said Mitrovic would be a bad signing because he is just a lump. Mitros hold up play is 10x better and he can actually score in international games. Put Mitro in that Swiss team and he scores at least 2 today. Also as I said, I don't think Moore did worse than Seferovic today. As for our current strikers. I'd say he ain't much better at holding the ball than Deeney or Gray, even Perica was decent at that against Bournemouth.

Because he was generally receiving the ball surrounded by defenders. Centre Forwards tend to have the lowest pass accuracy in most football matches for the same reason.

Moore's pass accuracy was basically identical to Seferovic's at only 0.2% less while having fewer total touches and having more space to operate in. Wales were sat so deep Seferovic had to do most his work in even tighter spaces.

So was Moore, who was even more isolated, but his hold up play was terrible and Seferovic’ was good. You’re giving him credit for doing the bare minimum

And also the most important thing for strikers is to score goals. Seferovic had a combined total of 13 shots at this and at last euros and scored 0 goals. He didn't score at the last wc either. Terrible player. Gavranovic showed more in his first 3-5 minutes on the pitch. Yes he was offside but at least he could finish.

I know you're Serbian, but it seems highly unlikely that any PL club is going to bother to pay what Fulham want for Mitrovic and there are good reasons for that.

I agree with you on that. The point I was trying to make is that you dissed Mitrovic who is objectively a much better player than Seferovic. I could have gone with some different player too.

That's fair enough, but at the same time we are still desperate for an upgrade at CF and they are both better than what we already have.

Most of the players on the pitch are proven at around mid-table PL level, eg James, Rodon, Davies, Shaqiri, Xhaka, and neither Moore nor Seferovic seemed particularly out of place.

It's highly unlikely we'll be able to afford or attract any strikers that are at a level above players such as them.

Really, who is any better who we could get?

International tournament football often isn't the best showcase of players anyway as teams tend to be less well drilled and games tend to be cagier.

As mentioned before in the transfer section, keep an eye on Jonas Wind for Denmark.

Also I had no idea that FIFA wonderkid Maehle joined Atalanta in January.

Why BBC saw fit to show the CPR and his wife stood by the pitch side, I’ve no idea.

Totally agree Burnsy. That was very poor direction from both the Danish broadcasters filming the match and the BBC for not cutting back to the studio.

Just a terrible thing to happen and thoughts and prayers with him and his family, and teammates too.

I’m in shock after witnessing that. It’s almost as if we just aren’t meant to enjoy anything in life any more. Euro 2020 was meant to be a festival of footballing fun to cheer us all after/during covid.(that’s not meant to sound selfish btw because obviously the only thing that matters right now is CE’s recovery)

Well you couldn’t get much more awful circumstances, at home in a Danish stadium full (as much as restrictions allow) of danish fans, what a horrible horrible situation for all involved.

I thought they both did OK today, and with our limited budget I would not say no to either of them coming to WFC, because they are just the style of player we need to lead the line IMO.

Ashley Fletcher is of the same style as those two, but probably not in the same class. So lets hope the Pozzo's are not pinning our PL survival on Fletcher, not unless he can really surprise us all and knock in 10 to 15 goals this season.

The usual variety of reports on his condition on Twitter but lets hope there is good news.

BBC getting some stick on Twitter .

Obviously not their feed but could they turned to the studio quicker ?

    Was very graphic and intrusive.

Just saw this as well, thankfully.

So the brief applause from the crowd in the stadium before he was wheeled off must have been in response to a sign of progress, and not only a flurry of additional support.
