I sit next to the 1881 area and felt like I was singing for most of the game. There's pretty much always singing, it's a case of how many people in the 1881 are going for it, and then whether the rest of the rookery takes it on and it spreads properly. Generally the singing only really takes off when responding to whats going on on the pitch.

But I do see where Roy is coming from. If you've chosen to sit there, you do have a bit of a responsibility to sing no matter what, that's the whole idea of it.

    Progress is a nice word.
    But change is its motivator.
    And change has its enemies.

    Very sad.

It's all gone downhill on and off the pitch since that new, borrowed, bloody awful Etienne Capoue song. Which Stoke fans had yet another version of, sung louder and better.

Not all the people in the block are ST holders and there are quite a few gaps which can be taken up regularly by non-ST holders. There was a plastic southern Liverpool fan next to me when we played Liverpool at home who had a go at me because "I was in his seat". As soon as I told him I was an ST holder he shut up and stayed put. Weirdly he added more to the atmosphere on that day than others at other games who were quite clearly watford fans

Every away team who create a great atmosphere have a real song everyone knows. Yesterday Delilah - Leeds have their song, etc. We have chants. If you want the whole stadium to join in you really do need an anthem. Chants are like waves for surfers some you catch and others pass you by. The singing section does an excellent job, but you can't expect them to build the atmosphere in the EJ or GT stands from the Rookery. The other stands need to play their part.

If you see our row there's at least 4 seats empty. Even still the idiot couldn't read his ticket and was in my seat

Genuinely didn't know any of that. Probably my ignorance in that regard, but it does start to make a little more sense about the whole situation.

It's a shame that ST holders from other parts of the stadium can't arrange to join them as my daughter doesn't come to every game and myself and my friends who I go with in the VRE have spoken numerous times during the season that it would be excellent to join the 1881 to have a sing like we do at the away games.

Just walk around and do it then. I think they get a fair few walk ups and there's often more people to a row than the number of seats.

I think they were clamping down on this yesterday. They were checking for proof of seat numbers as you went into the stand from the concourse.

Surely the message is simple - if you want to join in with the 1881 singing then get a ticket (or get your ST moved) for the 1881 section? The more the merrier and then hopefully the likes of the miserable gits that I was stood beside yesterday in RS5 who didn't once join in with any singing or clapping (not even when the teams came out) will move out to the other stands.

Palace and Boro have really great singing sections, a 1000 people gathered together singing would make the atmosphere brilliant but within the 1881 it is about 40 people spread out over the block that sing with another 40 that might join in now and again..

Maybe Watford fans are just less passionate, I started to go to more home games due to the 1881 section, during the last decade it has been mainly away games prior to this.

Roy Moore sir, how about you do something about the situation, you have done great but you must sense the frustration and I think with the goodwill I know you have from the club you can do something,,

Move the section.. Have a singing section within the current area that you know people who do sing are together.. Ask people who don't want to sing to **** off out of the area?

I'm sorry J.B., I know I'm close to this cure for cancer, but until this singing problem is sorted out I'm going to be too distracted to get it done. At this rate I'm only going to come up with a cure for acne.

Which is why we are posting it on a Watford football forum... I don't think anybody is losing sleep over it. If everyone had this attitude this forum would cease to exist. Jesus.

Anyway, whenever I look over there I only ever see about 10-15 people singing/clapping. For the amount that stand over in that corner, the noise they make is quite poor. Also, most songs are crap - get back to the basic chants and you'll see an improvement in the atmosphere.

"Average" is being extremely generous! And it does seem to inspire him to try even more ineffective (if not downright suicidal) showboating.

You`ll make a killing selling that to most of the watford fans at away games

Judging by some of the posts in here people are losing sleep over it.

Maybe the atmosphere would improve if you moved over to stand with the 1881 - as I have done - and helped sing and start songs more to your taste rather than looking over and observing how much noise people already there are making.

How is "average" remotely generous when referring to Capoue's displays against Man Utd, Leicester and Arsenal only this month?

So many people like to state how much his performances have dipped since Christmas, but very few have gone into any specific detail as to how. I've seen every game in 2016 except Newcastle in the FA Cup (when he wasn't even playing) and personally I don't see any noticeable dip in quality, or difference to how he usually played last calendar year. A bit less consistent yes, but the same goes for most of our team.

I sit with my Dad. Have done for many years in the lower GT and will always do so. He is in his mid 60s too.

Though I have asked to sit in the Rookery but its not his cup of tea and I would in no way leave him to go to games on his own.

Not everybody has the opportunity to sit with the 1881 but those that do should make the most of it. I appreciate all the hard work Roy has done. The display against Leicester was excellent. Just feel he needs to get all of the members together for a motivational talk! They were brilliant the back end of last season.

That was TD's call on Sat. He won the toss and chose to change ends as Stoke kicked off. The winner of the coin toss chooses ends the loser kicks off

We did that earlier in the season too. I just don't get the rationale and wish one of the local journos would be switched on enough to ask QSF/Troy what's behind it.

Could the 1881 use the song below as an anthem perhaps? Change the lyrics to da Ingerlish?

Could even wear the same attire and do the moves for exclusivity?

It makes the crowd sad when we attack the wrong end in the second half.

That's some bull****, believe you me. Hope the opposition don't find out and make us kick towards the Rookery every first half. We could get relegated.

Why don't we make a chant from one of Elton John's songs to create a sort of club chant that everyone would join in with?

I think it always makes for a better atmosphere when we attack the Rookery second half, also its attacking down the slope.
