There's zero logic to that kind of statement. Plenty of players have absolutely flourished despite not being sought after. Hype is no indication whatsoever of a player's ability to perform.

As for MV and FF , I don’t think people consider the fact that they would both raise their game if they were playing for the golden boys and would defo be Prem standard then . Just like AA.

& the point is that's the precise reason why MV has not been taken up by any other promoted team or any semi-established PL team. I am not making this up, am i. It's just a reality. We disagree. I could be right. So could you. But only one of us is talking like they know more than anyone else and it’s not me. You are making assumptions as to why no one has signed him yet. They may well be correct. But you are talking as if they are facts and you don’t know.

For instance, you say Cardiff haven’t gone for him because Warnock knows him inside out and doesn’t deem him good enough? It’s just as plausible that Warnock rates him highly but has a budget and £10m for a striker doesn’t work within that budget - we didn’t spend anywhere near that in our 1st season in the PL. Huddersfield or Newcastle may have wanted him last summer and Derby saw that they needed him to stand a chance of promotion so quoted £20m which the new PL sides may have baulked at. There are 2 sides to it but you have chosen yours and gone with it - I have no problem with that. But a plausible opposing argument can be had and you seem to struggle with that. You have the tone that if anyone else disagrees with you, they are categorically wrong.

Vydra has scored 22, 16 & 21 goals in three different Championship seasons, even with the poor season at Reading & Derby included that is bloody fantastic.

Was one of our players of the year first season, Player Of The Year AND Players Player Of The Year last season. There's not much else he can do to earn a fair shot at the Prem because whatever you say his season at West Brom was not a fair one.

I'm not talking from the authority that you say I am. I just prefer to use my opinion based on some level of reason and logic, not just past nostalgia. I personally think it would be very interesting to see how he would perform in the PL, but these are two totally different questions and should not be confused.

At some point a club must make a judgement on if they should invest the total funding or not and that would be a no from me given that I want player evolution in the team. Not sorry that I can have a firm opinion on the matter, but that is different from me saying someone is out and out wrong if they want MV back here.

 

That's one of those odd myths that does the rounds. He's not particularly injury prone, let alone 'highly'.

He did his knee on the first day of 15/16 but returned before the end of that season and played 90 minutes. He then played 38 times in the Championship in 16/17. The injury with us last season was his longest lay off in his career other than the knee injury.

He played 35, 41, 42, 6 and 38 times in 5 Championship seasons before signing for us.

 

In fairness, one of these highly advanced scouting networks thought that Oulare, Diamanti and Ibarbo would be better forward options than Vydra once upon a time...

 

Who has said he will be the next Ronaldo ? Another example of the bar being set higher for MV than anyone else. We wouldn't be expecting him to score at the rate he does in the champ. Just to be able to control the ball and finish some of the chances that Gray has missed. For c£10m many think he would be worth a punt. Many don't. That's fine.
