Are the home grown rules the same in Jan as they are in August?

Pretty sure I read you still have to have at least 17 home grown players in every starting XI , but only if they re not U21, but can be over the age of 21 if they re from outside of the EU but with either less or more than the required international appearances .

Pretty sure that's the case but hopeully Duxbury has read the rules on this one .

Also if Northern Ireland qualify for the Euros and Cathcart gets picked in the squad but doesn't actually play does he still count as home grown ?

I haven't seen enough of him to form a firm opinion, but at this stage I'm not convinced that he's better than Bond - though he is of course more experienced.

Coming: The entire Barca squad.

I actually think we only need cover up front and maybe a left back. teams who panic buy in Jan usually fail in their quest be it champions/Europe/staying up leave Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa to waste millions on crap. We have a couple they could spend their millions on...Dyer, Holebas etc.

 

Pace in the last third, so it would be two quick knowledgeable players. A striker and an Attacking Midfielder/Winger

Holebas and Belkelem to go, with Berghuis out on loan to get match fitness and build up his confidence.

 

I don't think it really matters what happens in January as long as we retain Doyley and get him back in the team ASAP.

You need world class defenders in the Premier League and Lloyd is quite possibly the single greatest defender/human of all time.

I would also like to see us bring back Jordan Stewart and Steve Kabba.

 

Spoke to a few non WFC friends who watched the game. Were actually fairly impressed with Arlauskis; good shot stopper and unlucky with OG.

 

Another striker who can score GOLES at this level would be nice. I'm struggling to think of any realistic options though TBH.

Agreed. Ake kept sliding all over the place. Made it easy for Arsenal to get around him.
