M'eh - unfortunately I can see Everton winning at 'King Power and the 'King Vic and that'll see them good.

Two standing closely back to back, assholes touching. First one to squeeze it all out wins.

    Metaphor for the weekend.

    We’ll lose.

I’m ashamed to say that we will almost certainly lose at home to Everton. I’m going to put a decent chunk on it, I strongly advise that you do to.

According to our players our season finished weeks ago… and we played in a European semi tonight.

Just to point out, Everton have taken 2 points away from home since the beginning of September and have no away points at all since Christmas, on a run of 8 consecutive away defeats.

Winning at Leicester, even allowing for last night, would seem a bit of a stretch.

So what's the current thinking up there? Can you survive? (Don't forget you've got a guaranteed 3 points at our place.)

True, very true. I just can’t see how we won’t roll over in the face if any kind of pressure.

Doesn’t have to involve Everton playing any good football, I am 95% sure that we’ll spend most of the match passing the ball sideways and concede at least one soft goal.

Have you seen us at home lately? We are beyond awful, being only slightly better away. Your going to beat us - and your going to send Leeds down in your place. We are in a record breaking season - for all the wrong reasons. If we want to make sure that record stands, you have to be home loss number twelve (in a row). When we lose to a Palarse tomorrow, our players will care even less about the game against your lot. It's horrible to say all this, but that is the level Watford fans' are at the moment.

    Depends who you ask.

At the moment I think the bookies have Leeds as slight favourites to go down over us

Personally I think we're down - the Burnley result was a killer and even allowing for the wins against United and Chelsea since then, we are the ones in the bottom three now who need to catch the teams above us.

All well and good, but we'll need 8 or 9 points to stay up I would think. Burnley have hit great form and I imagine they'll be ok. Leeds were in good form up until the City game. Both in better form than us over the last 5 games.

We *can* do it, but I'd imagine we will need a bare minimum of 2 points from the away games against Leicester and Watford over the next week. There are reasons to suggest that they are decent away fixtures to have at the moment, but equally we have been so bad away from home that it's hard to have any level of optimism.

I'd give us a 30% shot of staying up as things stand. This time next week we will know for sure

Just put down 3 points for when you play against us now, I promise hand on heart youll beat us if you beat Chelsea. The manager hates us, the players are just bad and have given up/feigning injury/trying to keep away from the nasty muddy ball that might injure them. We couldn't beat an under 8s side from Dovedale Primary school

It looks like Burnley are in a worse financial state than Watford.
Our perceived debts of £180+ million are close to the anticipated debts of Burnley.

Because their owners have done a Glazer on them by putting the debt on the club .

‘Shame’ and reference to Leeds getting relegated have no place in the same sentence.

Indeed. John Lennon's school. My youngest is there currently, Yoko Ono is still a benefactor.

In any case, back on topic, I totally appreciate how bad Watford have been at home. I've mentioned many times before that my father-in-law is an STH (despite only living a 5 min walk from me these days) and he's found this season a real grind.

I think it might end up being a case of who is less awful in midweek. I could even see you guys getting relegated this weekend then beating us on Weds and annoying you all that you couldn't have put in that sort of performance before now.

(I watched the Burnley game from a brown cafe in Amsterdam last weekend and I thought you were largely ok, but 2nd half wilted a bit)

After Burnley's result today you might be alright if you can get at least six points from your final two winnable home games against Brentford and Palace - Brentford have been on a great run but they've been playing teams that have nothing to play for, had their minds on Europe or are just plain awful (us and Norwich). And Burnley's run-in doesn't look so easy now - they've got to play Villa again and away, Newcastle have continued to pick up points after they've been all but safe and Spurs are going for the Champions League. Add to that at least a point against us and maybe something at Leicester and it's quite unlikely Burnley will pick up enough points to even equal your total (though if they do, it could be a repeat of the scenario in 1997/98 of you staying up on goal difference at the expense of Bolton).

That late Cornet goal might make the difference by the narrowest of margins in the end...

Three easy points on Wednesday night will help them ease into those final games in good form.

you watched it from the brown cafe in Amsterdam. I think a certain consumption might have something to do why you thought we were ok.

Man Utd - the first ever team to concede 4 goals to both Brighton and Watford in the same top flight season. A tiny silver lining in this cloud of a season.

Fact of the day: If you merged Watford and Norwich, you’d have equalled Brentford’s points total.
