Hmmm, I'm having a bit of trouble unpacking this para, if I'm honest:

    upload_2022-6-7_19-25-1.png

What exactly is contained in the new contract offer that is not of a financial nature yet respects his achievements, importance and popularity? Was he asking for a statue, perhaps? His name to be the shirt sponsor? Changing of the club's official nickname to 'The Samba Men' with immediate effect?

If so, and they refused, then he's perfectly within his rights to seek an exit. I'd think less of him if he didn't, in fact.

Reckon they told him they were looking to buy another keeper and he's said try looking for 2 because he has other offers.

That is perfectly logical and makes a whole lot of sense, theoretically, but the previous para says this:

And goes on to say this:

    upload_2022-6-8_2-48-3.png

So it does seem to be reporting that it is directly something contained in the contract/offer that he is unhappy with, and that Forest were planning for life in the Prem with him as their number one.

My real thinking/attempted thinly veiled sarcy implication is that he's telling porkies, and that his decision was, in actual fact, financially motivated

Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, and we aren't even in that league anymore, but I find it annoying that Liverpool has this many players. Son scored as many goals as Salah and helped Spurs get top 4 and he's not even in the best eleven. I'll never get why English media loves Liverpool so much.

I believe it’s because Liverpool were the top team when the current slew of journalists was growing up. Similarly, years ago many journalists were Spurs fans on the back of the Double team of the early 60s.

Swap Ronaldo for Kane/ Son and VvD for Laporte.

Arguably Ederson for Allison, they have the same amount of clean sheets and similar stats overall, yet one won the league and other one didn't. Or maybe even James instead of Alexander-Arnold, Rodri instead of Thiago, etc. I just find it stupid that more than a half of the team is Liverpool players. And leaving out Son is scandalous.

Completely agree that the in your face, pro Liverpool nature of football is nauseating.

Although arguably, Ederson had less to do as the opposition barely got near their goal.

Trent did play more minutes than James too.

Rodri was the best DM in the league last year, but I assumed Pep’s rotation cost him as he showed that level less regularly. I checked and Rodri played way more minutes, so agree - ridiculous decision.

Son’s finishing is amazing, but you could also argue Kane played better (especially when Conte came in). Salah was also incredible until AFCON, and terrible after, so could have been lucky to win the POTY award. I’d potentially have both in my team.

Allison does contribute more than Ederson, he’s the best keeper in the world at one on ones (ask Kucka) and twice as good at them as the next best. This enables Liverpool to play a higher line and hence also benefits their forward line as well. Both amazing keepers obviously, but one makes more of a difference to his team than the other.

Fair enough, that's why I said arguably(if you look at clean sheets, they are the same, also if it was the other way around I'm pretty sure they would have still picked Liverpool's gk.)
