GTA V Thread

Finished the story on Friday - got to say it's a fantastic storyline, and I really enjoyed playing through it - not once did I find myself getting bored of repetitive missions which has happened occasionally on past GTA games. Very impressive from R*, however a little disappointed that my online character has repeatedly vanished 5 or 6 times, so every time i've gone to play it, i've had to start over. I think this may be due to the cloud servers being down though, so hopefully when I try playing tomorrow having had a weekend away, this'll have resolved itself.

Has anyone managed to steal the Titan from Fort Zancudo yet? I've stolen the fighter jet but that's easy as it's fast. With the titan I just get blown to bits whilst trying to take off.

 

More Trevor character switch antics.

1. Switch to Trev and find him involved in a high speed pursuit on the interstate surrounded by cop cars and police helicopters swearing at the top of his voice.

2. Switch to Trev and find him perving on some tart walking down the street.

3. Switch to Trev asleep in an alley by a bin.

4. Switch to Trev who is throwing up into a swimming pool.

So, lost my online character but oh well this is to be expected at the moment, have learned that when entering and exiting online to do it through the pause menu as this saves your progress, dont do it through the character wheel. Plenty of info on the rockstar support page.

 

Apparently characters aren't being deleted, they're just not saving to the cloud.

 

Yeah, I think that was my issue initially. That message doesn't come up on mine anymore, and I have been able to play problem-free online for the last 2 days and have finally made some progress with my character.

One of the guys I join up with enjoy just riding around and killing the people who get bounties placed on their heads... made a fair amount of $$$ out of that tonight - if you get a good one (~$9000) it can be far more effective than the online missions at earning cash.

The races are also very fun.

 

Stole a fighter jet in single player yesterday, managed to get into the base and into the cockpit before I got any wanted level, and managed to evade the missiles as I took off.

Got back to my airstrip and realised I don't have hanger space to store it, so am currently last saved in the game in mid air approaching Trevor's hanger.

bugger.

 

How'd you get in there without a wanted level? I've come so close to getting the Jet. Going to try again this evening!

 

Get to the bottom of the entry road (maybe save, upto you) and then on a bike, ride straight through the entry barriers, if you're lucky and the watchman is facing the other way you'll get through without knowing, on the right shortly after getting in is an entry to the sort of pathway between the two perimeter fences, follow that round (you'll still be undetected all through this point) and then after the gas rigs on your left, there's an entrance to the runways, go in there, make a beeline towards one of the jets (bit hard to explain where they are, but there's one in the middle of the two runways, not quite straight out of this entrance, maybe slightly to the right), by the time you get to it, you'll still be undetected but by the time you jump out to get in the jet, they'll probably notice (might be a guard by the jet, I just ran him over, no one else will be near enough) and then take off.

When you take off, make sure you stay low, otherwise you'll be blown up within 5 seconds, when I left a missile was about to hit me as I made it over the fence, I dropped suddenly and it hit the floor instead, then once you're away from the fort and out of range for them just keep going in a straight line up the coast until you evade the police attention, then fly back inland to store the plane in a hanger or whatever. Don't do what I did first time and just fly out to sea to evade, as if you get too far off the map your plane stalls and you go down into the sea, not really anyway of surviving from that.

 

As trevor do the first cletus hunting mission. Once this mission starts just walk away from it and go to the base. This is a glitch in the game. when you get there no one is around and you will have time to calmly get into a jet and fly to the hanger trevor bought. it does fit in

 

Where's the challenge there?

 

I got the jet last night, using the same method as SM16 (I've seen the youtube video/s too) but I didn't manage to do it without any stars, it took me about 4 attempts... 3 of them I got the jet out but it had been damaged and gave up on me halfway towards the hangar. For the successful attempt, when I got in the jet I reversed to the back of the warehouse to give myself more of a runway so I didn't hit any army vehicles on the way out.

 

Also, Trevor is possibly the best character in anything ever.

If you get the jet away load missiles and you can blow up all the feckers chasing you on the road. Happy days and no one can really touch you.

I picked option 'C', but not so much in the mind of 'they'll survive' but thinking more in 'They'll want to go out together.' I dodged a bullet there. I thought the endings would be the same, but appear different with Franklin phoning Leicester regardless. A way for R* to save money on a false multiple choice ending. I was wrong. And I'm glad I was!

I was able to parachute into the base and land riiiiight next to a hangar without getting a wanted for about 6 or 7 seconds.

And I do love Trevor. His "give it up, Officer, this is getting waaaay out of hand" when switching is superb.

 

So how do you do races and stuff online? I'm only able to buy clothes and do single-player type missions at the moment?

 

The two installments of money is gonna massively knock out the fun of building up how much money you have etc I think.

Sounds like you are still on the tutorial, once you have done the Cypress flats LTS you are in free roam.

 

Stock market is open soon online plus most people will blow the money on an expensive apartment (which you need for the heist missions) and pimpin' their cars.

 

What else would you do with money?

Waste it in ammo continuously failing missions with idiots

 

From my experiences with attempting missions with OptimisticHornet, he loves a bit of self-sabotage. Whether it be shooting the tyres out of my car before we've even left the proximity of the mission start, or getting a stolen vehicle stuck on some steps whilst being pursued by the cops and subsequently kicking it in some apparent attempt to move it, resulting in said vehicle catching fire... it generally has resulted in a couple of restarts.

 

You should play with me, Alban and a few of my mates. It's like another level of stupidity, with lots of shouting and ******* ourselves laughing on Skype

 

Without turning this into some sort of random shout outs for each other on consoles, anybody on ps3?
