We don't have a majority Conservative government.

    It's a 'Tory Riot' alright. ;)

It's like a time warp back to the 80's.

You can't expect the police to be able to answer to a baying mob outside a police station, about a crime that is still being investigated. It'd jepodise any post-event inquiry. It's ridiculous to expect a spokesperson to answer the questions the crowd had, as the idiotic lady on bbc news last night suggested.

That's why you talk to a few trusted representatives.

So what's your point? Still labouring the initial position that Tottenham isn't a ********?

If so, I not only rest my case, I don't think I have any case to answer.

The local community were alarmed? What does that have to do with anything? Reassurances on what exactly? That next time the police will let bare gangsta bluds do whatever they want, carry guns around and shoot policeman?

What exactly is there to protest about? Who are these 'community representatives who simply must be spoken to? Why on earth should the police speak to community representatives when they have shot somebody who is a serious threat to society, who attempted to murder a policeman?

The local community should have sent the police bloody flowers. People who protest in defence of absolute scum are clearly scum themselves, who are worried that a similar fate may befall them.

London is full to the brim of lowlife wannabe gangstas. The whole culture is bereft of any legitimacy, positives or relevance and has no place in society. It isn't even a culture, as a culture is grounded in history. It is bullshine used to justify law breaking, taken from the inner cities of America.

What would mankind have achieved if the world had grown around gangster culture? Absolutely nothing. No academia, no medicinal research, no thought, no hard work, no honesty, absolutely nothing. It leeches off of modern society while providing nothing in return. It glorifies greed, manic sexism, violence, crime, having no legitimate work or career, the disobeying of authority and the complete removal of moral values.

It stands to reason that the only reason you would protest scum like that getting arrested is that you feel threatened by it.

I'm saying it's not a ******** and you are to some degree just displaying your phobia.

There are bits you wouldn't hang around in if you are not from that precise estate, but that's widely true across Britain.

I say this because I don't believe this is a riot brought upon most people in N17 by themselves.

The Guardian are reporting unnamed sources are saying the bullet in the police radio matches Met issue. No confirmation at the moment though.

Wishful thinking probably but it wouldn't be unlike the Metropolitan Police to shoot someone for no reason.

Reports from an ITV journalist on the scene say that 200 youths have attacked police, who have responded with dogs, and baton charges.

I don't think the police have ever shot anyone in this country 'for no reason'. There's always a reason and, on every previous occasion, a lawful defence.

Not the facts as reported by the IPCC and mentioned in my first post. I'm not even sure the Met have actually said the officer's radio was shot by Duggan so actually it's media speculation as to the possible events that is wobbling.

    Any names?

They offered a chief investigator to talk to the protesters, but apparently the people turned him down, because he "wasn't good enough"

Also 3 police officers are reported to be injured in Brixton according to ITV news.

I don't bloody know. The peaceful protest and the rioting are seperate incidents.

    That's quite frankly rubbish.

Had there not been a protest, there would not have been a riot imo.

    It's cause and effect.

Is that not what your MP or Councillor is for?

Should these "peaceful protesters" or even the guys family approached the MP these people voted in to act as the go between if they wanted answers?

I don't see how burning down somebodys business is a way of getting answers for the death of a gun man.

Since the whole kettling incident there have been numerous "protests" including some tax dodging paracite swinging from the centaph; dropping fire extinguishers off buildings. Then last night we have inoccent peopl being run from their homes and businesses being looted. Why? Because the police have no powers any more.

If this had been in America, Italy, even Germany they wouldn't have got the chance to start the fires or nick a police car. It's time these do-gooder, PC ********s shut the **** up and let the police go about their business and ****ing police the country!
