I am probably in the top-one percentile of Watford fans when it comes to optimism, but I am really struggling. The encouraging start Munoz made has receded back to Ivic's tedium which is really hard to reconcile. It should be pointed out, our bad run is only three games without a win, of which only one was a loss and we are firmly ensconced in the Play Offs, however the quality and entertainment has been dire. I haven't watched any other teams, it could be a factor of fatigue from the concertinaed season and many others may be struggling, but surely not to the extent we have lately. The most annoying thing here is the fact the club are making noises about players giving more, whilst most of us feel there's more to it than that. Our defence = OK. Forwards = poor although we don't make many clearcut chances for them. Midfield = appear to run themselves ragged (esp cleverly) whilst never actually being in control or not chasing shadows. Others on here have commented on our overrun midfield and I think it is the first thing to put straight. With a winger on each side we have just in the engine room, Chabs and Cleverley - so any decent 3 man midfield will cause us big problems and most other issues stem from there. We shown before that 352 leaves us struggling in defensive corners, so I would go with a 451 to start with Pedro up top - and then 433 when we have the ball. Let's start commanding midfield a bit rather than continually looking for long out balls down the wing.......
Highlight of the day will be when the club post the starting eleven at 14:00. Deeney and Gray up front. Zinckernagel and Hughes on the bench. I can't wait to see everyone's reaction. It'll be far more exciting than the tepid slop we will produce on the pitch.
