This game is potentially the final straw. Lose, Munoz is sacked and Watford's season lies in tatters. A draw is pretty much the same outcome. Only a convincing win will do. Ok, I'll take a scrappy unconvincing win, which is what I expect is likely to happen. Not sure where that would leave Munoz though. If we win, but ride our luck, play crap (again) but pick up the three points. Will that fool our less than impressive leaders? Probably.

For the first time this season I'm not going to bother with the £10 Hive Live fee. I'll make do with SkySports with their updates. They always show goals and near misses anyway. I can't go through another tedious Coventry, QPR, Millwall, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Reading, Birmingham, Barnsley, Forest, Sheff Wed, Derby, Stoke (all bar 5 minutes), Swansea, Cardiff, Bristol City, Wycombe, Middlesbrough type match. I've been worn down and had enough of all that.

Not paying for Hive, hope it’s very low numbers who do to nudge the leadership awake.

The concern is the vacuum of first team 'leadership' if they did sack Xisco after the game. We have no one with the qualities to lead the team a few days later (Omer Riza?! Come on) so we'd have to hope we already have someone lined up. In which case, they should have come in this week.

Allowing Xisco this week has the potential to be very problematic.

Same here, the rugby sounds a better watch. If we play really well and we win 2.0 great I'll take it the chin having missed it, but that feeling will be ten times better than if I watch another turgid game. Win - win.....

Yes that's right, but you have well and truly provoked me. I despise people like u who make unprovoked abusive online comments to people they dont know. You said nothing Xisco says makes sense, I feel the same way about you. Yesterday u were talking about lockdown but I'm not under lockdown, I can hookup without breaking any rules. I guess your 'hard drive' jibe is a porn reference. I have a rather amazing FWB at the moment so porn is a long way from my thoughts. You are the one sliding down multiple rabbit holes right now. My advice to a fool like you during lockdown would b to make sure you're taking your vitamin D, remove the least healthy parts of your diet, exercise more, get as much fresh air as possible, spend no more than 2 hours a day online apart from zoom/Skype/facetime etc, avoid online conflict with strangers like the plague (u r just harming yourself), reduce your porn consumption by at least 80% and keep it as vanilla as possible (for mental health reasons not moral ones) and make sure you have people who understand and empathise with u who u can share your thoughts and feelings about these strange times we are living in with.

Reading that list of games just shows how abysmal this season has been. Away games I can think of Reading first half as the only one where I thought we played well. Home games, Preston and the scum. I'll end up paying the £10 but it has been dreadful entertainment

Reported. I did say I would report any posts where you continue to play amateur psychologist and speculate on people’s mental health.

The thread yesterday was shut down and that was the end of it as far as I was concerned - yet you’ve brought it over here.

Just give it a rest, you’re boring. I, and everyone else, couldn’t care less about your ‘hookups’ or your ‘Confessions of a Window Cleaner’ mannerisms. You sound fairly vile.

I won’t be replying to any response to this so just go and bore someone else.

I said at the beginning of the season that we need to change the leadership structure and divide the responsibility between several players who are strong minded, focussed, humble team players. Hughes and Cleverley plus a few others. Maybe TE, Wilmot also has a fantastic attitude. The problem is the club see Deeney as the leader and in that scenario we r completely fooked.

Yes...I should have added for balance, I did enjoy Luton, Norwich, Blackburn and Preston. I was happy with our performance at United in the Cup also. But that's about it. The rest has been total abject crap.

We're only in the playoff positions because for the first time in ages, refereeing decisions are going for us. To get 8 penalties in tight games has had a huge positive impact on results. We've also benefited from a few mad moments from the opposition and generous officiating. The Pedro push against Stoke for Cleverley's goal, the disallowed Wycombe winner after a Foster fumble. The disallowed last minute goal at QPR (which was probably a correct call, but we had to rely on a very good spot from the lino). On the flip side you could say we were denied a winner against Brentford, but that's about the only thing to go against us all season. We've been extremely fortunate this season. No way, based on performances, should we be on 48 points. Mid-table is probably where we "deserve" to be.

Yeah, it's been a waste of time. He's clearly not going to be here in a couple of weeks and he's out of his depth, so why give him Bristol, Preston and Derby in quick succession to do nothing with.

Best case scenario is they're tying up the loose ends to appoint someone decent, but it's likely we'll just put some nobody in.

I went to Pristina for the England game in 2019. I've never been to a more friendly place. Absolutely loved it and we all said we'd go back again soon.

  14. Isn't it sad that in these lockdown times, the one thing that should be something to look forward to to break the tedium is actually a cause for dread?

Agreed it's the most uninterested I've been in over 45 years following the Hornets. @hornetboy1 quoted so many lacklustre games and his opinion on the refereeing decisions are spot on. Pericas goal is the only one that's gone against us that I can recall.
The rugby will be my choice of sport this Saturday.

Unless I see a change in formation and selection. That means no DEEKNEE AND GRAY.

Seems they want their manager out as he is too negative and picks the wrong team/players.

    Another classic then tomorrow!

I suspect if they are looking for a replacement, that Covid and more so, Brexit, are likely fairly big obstacles to overcome.

    On a more positive note.....

We have a striker who plays every week struggling to score in open play. We have another striker who plays on rotation and is struggling for form. Yet, despite this, we are in and for the most part been in the playoff places all season. Keep it up lads! We are rooting for you to keep it going. :)

Can anyone suggest a way of following tomorrow's game that does not involve giving the club another tenner? I know me withholding 10 poxy quid isn't going to make any difference to anything but after the Andre/Luther video shambles I just feel the need to register my irritation in some small way.

I don’t think Brexit is that big an obstacle. I posted the other day the new guidelines.

I’m pretty sure Ivic would have qualified either automatically or via the appeals process but Munoz would not have. Of our previous managers, Jokanovic is the only one who would not have qualified when hired (though he would now). Pretty much any managers who has managed (and this is a non-exhaustive list) for 2 of the last 5 years in a Big 5 league, the second tiers of those leagues, China, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Turkey Poland, Slovenia (!), Ukraine, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile(!). It’s really quite expansive and then there’s also an appeals process to catch those who might narrowly miss the automatic criteria (although I would imagine the club isn’t interested in going down that route as it is protracted and risky).

I think covid and travel restrictions etc is more of a restraint. Do managers not qualify for various elite sport exemptions?

I don’t disagree but it’s still a potential extra hurdle that wasn’t there before - even more so given the backwaters Gino often fishes in. And they operate in tight timeframes so any appeal adds to it.

Despite being a ST holder I missed booking for the free Hive so I have been paying £10 a match, minus Sky games.
I haven't minded until the last ten days,as I viewed it as a way of supporting the club in difficult times.
Tomorrow I'm not going to pay,as a gesture. Dave Messenger has not replied to my email and I may reply to the Hive address to explain why I am not paying on this occasion.
I doubt they'll take any notice, they haven't with Luther in various forms but I do feel I have to protest in my own feeble way.
