On the walk from where I park (in someone’s drive) to the ground I saw a young female traffic warden putting tickets on cars in Shepherds Avenue (next to the grammar school) I have always thought you were allowed to park on yellow lines on Sundays and bank holidays, there is also a sign on the lamp posts saying no parking Mon - Fri between the hours of 2-4 pm. However surely this doesn’t include bank holidays or does it!

Anyone know because if I got a ticket I would certainly dispute it!

Just wanted to mention what a terrific game it was in general, not just because we won. I thought both teams really went for the win and were pretty evenly matched for the most part. Makes you realise how many teams play like a bunch of cloggers away from home, but I was very impressed by Wolves play which makes the fact we got the win even sweeter.

Yes, like others I wasn't too keen on Wolves' sportsmanship but they have some quality players that are very good at breaking with pace and covering almost the whole length of the pitch on their own, so the task I mentioned on this thread about keeping it tight against their counter-attacks proved easier said than done! Very relieved to get the win in the end, although the last 25 minutes seemed to go by surprisingly quickly, considering the pressure we were often under, at least compared to other nail-biters I've watched, like England's 1-0 over Argentina or our 2-1 at Arsenal in the cup.

I don't think bank holidays count for anything with regards parking. It's a nice, sweet little haul for the wardens as people get confused.

11 days ago we had 9 points, now we have 19, joint second of the points haul after the last 4 games with none other than Southampton, (Liverpool top) amazing stuff!

Excellent summary, and I’d just like to echo what you said about Chalobah. I thought he put in a really calm performance in midfield today, which was just what was required.

There are signs all over town stating that parking restrictions are in place on bank holidays in Watford, this has been the case for at least 15 years.

    Good gritty performance.

Could not give a single **** about what Wovles fans think. Their team, especially Neto, were embarrassing today. Even Traore, who's built like an out house, took a dive at the end. Haven't seen a team fall over like that since Muff in the championship. I really hope they slide down the table.

And you seem to have forgotten or overlooked QSF's final two results that got him the sack, and left us in no better, if not worse a state than we were when Javi was fired, in terms of defence, confidence and team spirit. We were always going to win at some point, and we were always going to get at least one clean sheet, we managed a fair few of those under Mazzarri, Silva and Gracia, managers who weren't great at organizing defences.

So he marginally improved our defence, but I'm afraid that's the only thing I can say in his favour (and I was a fan of him previous time round for the most part). Mullins and Stack during a much shorter period significantly improved on what QSF did, including getting Kiko back to playing at a level that we hadn't seen for many months, in addition to adding some much needed creativity and a much higher level of work rate. It is those things, more than anything Quique did, that provided the groundwork and confidence for Pearson to build on.

I'm sorry, but this is madness and I reject it utterly. We're in the position that we are because of Quique more than anyone else (aside from Gino and Filippo). Any 'defensive confidence' that QSF instilled came in once again turning all 10 outfield players into defenders. There's nothing impressive about that or worthy of recognition, and we still managed to not be particularly good defensively.

Quique did abysmally; he was utterly incompetent in his second spell here. The idea that he's now being unfairly 'slagged off' shocks me in even being suggested.

Yeah, I think the kindest thing you can say about Quique is at best he made us less worse at the beginning. He then made us worse than when he started towards the end.

It all well and good Lisbon FC getting all the plaudits doing the double over Man City, but when they come up against someone decent they’re found wanting.

GD pops up with a few goals now and then but showed a lot of character today, easing the pressure off the defence with some long runs into their half and showed. He was playing for a team.

Pretty sure FA cup counts, hence Holebas nearly missing the final after getting sent off vs. West Ham

Forget to add in my first post, Holebas was crud when Kiko went off. Injured or not, he was so outclassed, it's January now, get a new guy in and let him retire in a shower of yellow cards.

I don't know but I'm going to throw my name in the hat for "non supporter supporter of the season" at this rate. I haven't been able to use my season ticket since the Crystal Palace game. I can, however, go to the Spurs match. I apologise in advance.

Another vital win, and I like our new tactic. Playing with 10-men produces wins. Having won 3 or our 4 with 10-men this season. Maybe if we play with 9-men we'll give someone a right good thrashing. Something for Big Nige to think about.

Watford are unrecognisable from that feeble, scared to play at home side we were under Flores. It still makes me shudder to think we were playing 5 in defence and 2 DMF's against the likes of Sheff Utd, Bournemouth & Burnley….just pathetic.

Now we're giving it a right go and it's inspired everyone. Vicarage Road is once again a great place to be. The atmosphere is alive and the players are working so hard.

It's such a simple game. We do have ability, but we had no direction or application. That missing ingredient has been provided by Pearson with the standards he sets. Our big players, leaders, have responded. Deeney, Capoue, Foster and Doucoure love him. Look at the work rate and desire being shown by Deulofeu.

If we continue to play at this level, there is no way we will be relegated. Even in adversity, we're proving to be extremely resilient.

To beat Villa and Wolves with 10-men and we've not even rode our luck, its been relatively comfortable. Wolves are a very good side but apart from their fortunate goal they hardly had a sniff.

We're not on a great run, but the work has to continue. We need to keep this work rate up for the rest of the season. It's tough to do this week after week, but the players can see it's paying dividends, so it's far easier to play like this when you can see it gets results.

Special mention to Sarr. He didn't impress me too much when he arrived. I couldn't see why the club spent so much money on him. But now I can see it, and I was wrong about that. I thought we should have invested in the defence, and the way the season had gone until recently I certainly felt vindicated. But it's down to attitude. The defence can defend if they work for each other. This is not what they were doing which made themselves look like poor players. Sarr is coming into his own and is a real handful now. He's creating chances and scoring goals. Unlucky not to get one today, but it's the other part of his game which has really surprised me. He's doing the unglamorous stuff too, like defending. His pace is just awesome. If he develops at this rate we probably won't have him for too long, but I hope we manage to keep him for next season too, as I felt we let Richarlison go too early.
