Very true, last night I was thinking to myself 'I bet Bill Punton wouldnt have tracked back for that one' on several occasions.

I've looked again at the "red" card incident. It was a foul, that it almost certain. But VAR can do one because the ref got it spot on. Kabs was NOT the last man
at the time of the challenge. Not talking about before it, when the incident happened, there was a defender in line with Kabs. The law states if the defender executes
a foul to stop a goal scoring chance when he is the last man between the goal keeper and the striker, it's a red. The ref got it spot on - he was not the last man, he did
execute a foul, and it was probable in denying a goal scoring chance, but the fact remains, he had a defender level with him at the time the incident took place.

Have you checked the VAR armpit or toe line? I bet that's what has done it! Never clear and obvious mistake though so should not have interfered.

Start an argument with a bunch of lairy, pissed up Wolves fans clearly out for confrontation, huh? That'd be sensible. You'd have done exactly the same and you know it.

I see your new year's resolution of 'must stop being an arrogant ****' didn't last long.

Exactly! which is why it's being used to abuse the ref's initial decisions. Had VAR not stuck their nose's in, Kabs would of stayed on.

Kelso would have taken them all on. One-arm tied behind his back !

The law doesn't state that. The "last man" rule has been replaced by "stopping a goal scoring opportunity (within reason)" and doesn't include last man. Kabasele did stop a goal scoring opportunity because if Jota kept on running straight ahead, Cathcart wouldn't have stopped him and Jota would be staring down Foster. I'm sorry but VAR did get that one right

Wow I did not know that, thank you. Appreciate the insight. I need to read up more on changes to the game each season. :)

To me it seemed a red card and I was worried being down to ten but in hind sight it looks like Kabs done good.
He may just have got us the full three points as Jota would have had only foster to beat and it could easily have been a goal.
Had the incident been reversed we would be complaining about being robbed of a point and would insist it was a red.

Yes I agree there but it is subjective and the ref who was well positioned gave it as a yellow. There was nothing he missed, no new evidence so therefore VAR should have kept out of it.

It was just about a red imo, however the whole VAR system is a farce. The Wolves player throwing himself to the floor like he'd been shot also didn't help.

Thought we were superb again yesterday. The spirit & determination to get the job done with 10 men was superb, just like in the Villa game.

Kiko was fantastic at LB again, shame he had to go off injured, hopefully he's not out for too long as Jose looked off the pace when he came on. Sarr & Deulofeu are different gravy when they're on it, criminal how these have only played together a few times this season. Big shoutout to Troy who won the majority of the headers yesterday, and also for closing down the pass which led to the first goal, very similar to how we scored our first against Villa.

Although Jota’s touch had taken him further left rather than straight in on goal - suspect that is why he threw himself to the ground. He also seems to fall forward even though he was tugged back

Just wondering, why has Kaba got a 2 match ban, read this on a website " If a player is sent off for a professional foul (eg holding an opponent back when they're through on goal) or a second bookable offence they will be handed a one-match ban"

Cheers, I did think that, but having searched everywhere , I cannot find anything that says, 2 red cards in a season, gives you an extra match ban.

If you look at it closely, Kabasele has his hand on his arm, tugs slightly at it but Jota still continues and then he falls forward. It's still annoyingly a foul, but he bought that quite a bit

I'd have stepped in. It was a long time ago that I worried about personal safety in the face of injustice. In fact never. Just what I do. Do you really think they'd have started something in the Vic. Road with all the old bill about and no doubt CCTV in the shop too? Just stand in the front of the queue and deny them access. Either they get to the back of the queue or tell them they'd have to nick the beer which is probably what would happen in Wolverhampton.

So is Kabasale banned for the next game or can he use the one match ban by missing the cup game ?

  29. If, as has been stated, the Tranmere replay would be 'effectively the same game', does that mean he would be banned for that too, or could he in fact nominate the replay as his second banned game as, being the same as the first tie, it actually falls before the Muff game?

Wolves fans getting annoyed we time wasting and managed the game out.

Well what did they expect a team down to 10 men and holding onto a one goal lead against a decent side to do?

    Go all out attack ?!

Exactly, the way Watford managed the game out was brilliant! I mentioned on one of these threads recently how I still remember how Gifton Noel-Williams managed the game out against Bristol City years ago by the corner flag at the Vicarage Road end. Well, I think I will add the memory of Deeney and Sarr down in the corner yesterday, no chance I will ever forget those last enthralling minutes in a tense, exciting victory. Simply magnificent boys, take a bow!
