I’ve reinstated the tradition from the Championship days, and since I have so far so good... #justsaying
Prejudice against a whole set of fans based on their perceived class is not very (ahem) 'classy'. Anyway, A bunch of lairy Wolves knuckledraggers were in the corner shop in Vic Road before the game, telling everyone that Watford was a sh1thole as they picked out a 4-pack of Tennents Super from the drinks cabinet. They then pushed in the long queue and when challenged by the old bloke just behind them, threatened 'We don't queue in Wolverhampton. What are you going to do about it?'. Four of them. To an old bloke. They must think they're SOOOOO hard. I was particularly pleased we beat Wolves today because of this incident.
Well done to the old dude. What a bunch of losers, I hope they enjoy the Tennents on the train back up north, and choke on the ring pull.
Wolves forum is a laugh this evening. They're really pushing the "our team didn't turn up against a bad watford team" to extremes (like man utd, villa and sheff utd) but with a horrible self entitled view of themselves. They're absolutely nowhere near the team they think they are or should be.
That is the second game in a row a goal has been created by deeney pressing defenders and winning possession. Should be recognised
Traore has improved a lot but really should move into adult size kit at his age! I thought a PJ Proby moment was imminent.
Thought Masina would have been a better option. Thankfully didn't matter in the end but Holebas was done for pace.

Great. Back to work tomorrow and I'm hoarse yet again. My vocal chords cannot cope with this congested Xmas period. What a great win. I didn't dare hope for it at the outset - thought it was too much to wish for, but we did it and deservedly so. If not for a wicked deflection, I don't think Wolves would have scored. Foster did make some good saves including one which looked like a worldie first half, so maybe Wolves did deserve a consolation. Despite the nerves, and their ability to get behind Holebas at every attempt, we didn't really have too many scares. We looked very solid and the composure to see it out was superb. Man for man the players all earned their bread today. From Foster through to Deeney. Some of them weren't at their best, but the Pearson philosophy is that even when you're not on form, you still have your job to do and that shone through today. I didn't think Sarr was as good as in previous games. He had some bad touches and lost possession a few times, despite getting into good positions, however, what he did was work his skinny arse off, like the rest of the team. That is pure Pearson. One or two people in the thread said Chalobah was poor - I couldn't disagree more. I had come around the the general wisdom that he was finished as a player, but he was outstanding today. The one negative I would say was Holebas. He looked slow and unfit. We were much weaker one Kiko went off for him. On the other side, Masina looked far more aggressive and fit. I would have him in for Kiko if the latter is injured. Holebas should be put out to pasture now. The time wasting in the corner at the end was so much fun. I haven't seen us be that professional and smart in ages. Kabasele is an idiot. Not for making the foul, but for being caught out of position so that he needed to make it. It looked like a probably red, but the ref made a call, which should not have been overturned. He saw the incident and made a judgment. That is not what VAR is for, especially for something as subjective as that. I would say it was 60/40 a red but it was not a 'clear and obvious' issue. It's frustrating that other results seem to be going against us, but it's a marathon, not a sprint. If we can pick up 5 or 6 more wins and a handful of draws out of our last 17, which it looks now, like we might well, then we will survive. Whether it's Villa, Southampton, West Ham or someone new to the mix who puts on a terrible run from hereon in, someone will fall below us. We just need to chalk up the points and the table will sort itself over time. At the beginning of December, I really didn't see any hope. I certainly didn't see us picking up 10 points from 4 games. I stand corrected. We really can do this now! I believe we will.
You're the hero we need right now. Love you Stu. How does one go about nominating for supporter of the season?
Some great performances all round today, Capoue was immense, Doucoure scored a decent goal and was everywhere would love to know the distance he covered today and Sarr is getting better every game, shame he hit it straight at the keeper early on as he deserved a goal. I think a big part part of today was having Deulofeu and Sarr wide, Wolves often cause us massive issues with their wing backs but they were way less effective than usual for most of the game having to try to keep our boys at bay rather than attacking. Hope the Mexican tw*t gets pulled up for slapping the ball out of a kids hand and nice to prove again that Wolves aren't all they are cracked up to be by their fans and the media. Top grade *********ry towards the end also, well done boys.
Have x3 . Why do you persist? Just write pwopa. You've had enough coaching. It annoys me and detracts from a great day.
Im buzzing from the high of getting one over on the **** masked knuckle draggers. Grammar probooolie wasn't on my agenda.
You're just being bloody-minded now. You're just doing it on purpose. It's not a matter of opinion. Just right and wrong. Don't want to get educated and write nonsensical? carry on. And get picked up on it every time by me and others. For your info. I'm buzzing too. And really don't need this. ****-masked knuckle-draggers, probably don't get it either.
What this and the few previous performances really shows is just how much influence a head coach/manager has on a team. There is a school of thought that players can sort of organise themselves and many coaches are much of a muchness, but the astonishing difference between the talent and application/attitude of exactly the same players here is ridiculous to behold. Every second further we play under Pearson is another industrial nail in the coffin of Quique's career. Those players who looked shot and/or over the hill whilst failing at even the basics, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, are now playing with confidence and flair, even. The workrate is most notable, with two players on every 50/50 and a teammate always ready to step in and mop up when a ball is lost or rolls/ricochets free. On a related note, I almost wouldn't be surprised to see Deeney feature in the cup game, because as he said himself, he's playing himself back into fitness and it's another opportunity to do so; something he struggles with outside of a game situation.
I didn't notice that. He really seems to have put on muscle mass since he was at Wolves. Very fast and strong, poor Mad Greek looked like a trireme against a speed boat!
I see West Ham had a player sent off, only for it to be rescinded and changed to a yellow by VAR! Funny old world!
What is this recent obsession on here with using our recent results to slag off Quique?! Sure, he wasn't great, but he still did something to steady the ship - we managed our first clean sheet, first point at home, and first win this season under him at least. It appears people have already forgotten how utterly atrocious we had become under Javi before QSF took over. We lost 3-0 at home to Brighton and 3-1 to Spam ffs. Maybe Pearson would have managed similarly positive results with this team had he come in earlier in the season instead of QSF, but it's also feasible that the defensive groundwork and defensive confidence put in place by QSF gave Pearson something to build on, with us now adding goals to the relatively improved defensive solidity under Quique. It was the right decision to sack QSF, but Pearson inherited a team in better shape after Quique, than Quique inherited after Javi.
