Think I might break my dry January now. I did well. What a performance. Strong and confident despite going down to ten men. Only negative is the Kabasele sending off and the Kiko injury. Both have shown good form and will be missed if they are unavailable against Muff.
Massive win. Cheated us for the red card. What a bunch of diving cheating snowflakes the wolves players are. Bring on b’muff
Yep. A month ago we weren't in a relegation battle. We were sunk. We've had to fight for the right to catch up to be in a position to take part in a proper relegation battle and we've done that with renewed spirit and commitment. Now we're still in the bottom 3 but the others are in range and we have the belief we can catch them. You can see the confidence returning.
Still wearing my unwashed Christmas jumper, not lost since the ManUre match, but the way the boys are making me sweat I won't be able to sit near anybody soon Great result COYH
Ony sour notes was Kabs out for 3 games, Kiko going off injured and Burnley producing the worst performance ever to gift Villa 3 points.
Thought we played well today and deserved the win but for 20 mins I thought we were going down 2-3 I think the turning point was Kiko going off , he really has got a lot better, once he was off traore seemed to be running us ragged . Sarr great again especially as he needed to adapt , running down the wing wasn’t working so he adapted and was all over the place. great to see Gerry and Doucs score, that’s two more players with a bit more confidence Foster again kept us in it. Deeney did his part , don’t care what others think Don’t think challobah is as good as Hughes but did his bit And for once don’t think you can blame the opposition for being crap
It’s a 1 game ban for that. Red against Norwich means he’ll possibly serve an extra game ban though and miss Bournemouth too.
Sat poolside while on holiday so have no idea how we played apart from we scored more than them, we had a player sent off and VAR was massively involved again Absolutely brilliant 3 points. Rest as many as possible for tranmere. Bournemouth is a massive game. on a side note, the scum are now bottom of the championship!! Happy days
It'll only be one game, no? Professional foul, rather than serious foul play. I'm not sure what the rules are about overruling a red, which overruled the yellow, which the ref gave. But to keep their whole smoke and mirrors VAR is working line, I reckon we have next to no chance of getting it rescinded. Edit: good point UEA. Second red means one additional match suspension, so he'll be banned for 2 matches.
Another excellent win with 10 men! Certainly has been a great Christmas period. 2 good goals and some very decent defending when under pressure.
What a result. The work-rate thoughtout the team since Pearson and Shakespeare's arrival has been tremendous. Everyone put in the effort to secure the win today and they thoroughly deserved the result. If this is the new manager bounce then long may it continue. Happy New Year and COYH!
B E A UTIFUL. That's all (well apart from Kabs getting sent off, which I actually think it was a red but meh)
Wolves are an irksome bunch. Muchly overpraised in the media and thus the spineless gamesmanship part of their game is overlooked.
Superb battling win against very competent opponents in adverse circumstances. Showed bundles of character which had been absent for so long. Just about deserved it - Wolves were buried before that lucky deflected goal.
I said at the time it was our awful game management that gifted them their goal, we got totally distracted by Kiko going off and waiting for Holebas to come on. Not sure why it took so long but we seemed to play with 10 men for much longer than necessary. We ended up with Sarr covering left back and Wolves pinning us in. I’m sure at one point Foster even signalled to the bench if he should kick it out but was told no. Then Kabasele did, the crowd cheered ironically and the very next attack we were nowhere near with it as Neto shot. So I’m glad we did proper *********ry at the end.
If Kabs' red card doesn't get overturned, how many games will he miss? And will one of the suspensions be for the FA Cup match?
Because Foster tried, and failed, twice to kick the ball in to touch. Pearson was going absolutely ape at him.
Great, gritty match. We look more solid than we've looked in years, whilst simultaneously looking more dangerous in attacking positions. I have to say I love Pearson so far. The most impressive change however is our attitude. Everyone's concentration has dramatically increased, especially Foster who barely put a foot wrong. Capoue is looking imperious and Sarr looks every inch the record transfer fee we paid. Sarr to GD and vice versa, will be a common goalscoring combination this season I think. Whilst there were loads of great performances today, hats off again to Deeney today for delivering the heart and brains up front to kill the game at the end. The only downside is the teams around us keep winning, but if we keep playing like this (and we don't keep playing 10 men vs 12 (if you include VAR refs), it'll be hard to stop our ascendancy.
It would be a lovely problem to have... and one we don’t have to worry about for a while yet, but if things carry on as they are the our issue might be keeping other PL clubs away from Pearson.
What a win and what a set of balls we have shown the past couple of games in particular. Fantastic. Femenia was excellent again until he went off. I stand by the fact that he was absolutely horrendous previously and I didn't see that changing, but since Pearson has come in and he's switched to left back he's been brilliant. Fair play. Oh, and VAR and the performing monkeys that run it can absolutely, 100% **** off, the incompetent, useless divs. That was NEVER a red in a million ****ing years.
Also Neto is one of the worst divers I've seen in the EPL over the last few years. What a cheat. Would be angry at him, if he wasn't ****.
Great defiance and controlled aggression saw us over the line. Thought Chalobah struggled a bit, but the rest really dug in. Sarr, Foster, Doucoure and Deeney excellent. We couldn’t handle the weight lifter on the Wolves right wing. Caused us to panic all game long. Fantastic feeling at the final whistle. Still a long battle ahead, but a positive vibe around the place now.
All teams do it and what do they expect from a team in the bottom 3, 2-1 up and down to ten men. Start rushing round the place to take a throw in or a goal kick quickly?! Bollox to them
