How can Mazzari say Bournemouth are playing some of the best football in the UK. Is he looking at the wrong league, what about the majority of teams above them. Shows a complete lack of knowledge and more importantly confidence. Bring Flores back, better still an English manager. One that can speak English at least. Think he is the worst thing to happen to us in a long time.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is available and can speak English. Have him and Kenny Jackett as his assistant. Must be better than miserable Walter

Three threads on the first page about our head coach and his inability to speak English, with his name spelt wrong in all of them.

I've come to the conclusion Mazzarri is going to stay, we will play like we have done last couple of months, and (and this is the important bit) have just enough to escape relegation.

Have you got any mamagerial qualifications though? It'd be great if we could bring someone who has both.

In the spirit of the spelling pedantry on the thread, I assume mamagerial means taking care of boobs?

Do we really need a new thread on this after every game? Let's just lump everything into one 'Mazzarri' thread.

I believe Mazzarri has sailed very close to the wind with regards to losing his job, although I have to say there have been signs of small improvement in recent weeks, which has probably bought him some time.

Had we played badly and lost to Boro, that would probably have been the final straw. But we managed to secure a point and there was enough to suggest we may be seeing a change in attitude within the team.

Whereas earlier in the season, for me, it was about good performances and seeing signs of gradual improvement, that’s now been torn up. It’s all about good results. Get them by whatever means possible.

We have to make damn sure we take maximum points from our winnable home games.

This season has been a complete shambles as far as I’m concerned. We’ve gone backwards there’s no doubt about it. Is it a case of taking two steps backward in order to go forward? Maybe…….but only time can answer that.

Swansea worry me. A new coach and a fantastic win at Anfield. How much confidence will that give them?

Palace are bound to improve somewhere along the line. Big Sam knows how to keep teams up and they have enough quality to get out of danger.

Sunderland look the most vulnerable and Hull will continue to battle, but do not have enough quality.

We have an 8 point advantage. 16 games to go. We seem to be rudderless, with a collection of decent individuals but no team. I think our level of ability will just about be enough to get us over the line, but to have gone this close is just unbelievable when you consider the quality we have in our side.

  24. I spoke to Gino on Saturday as one of our suppliers had a hospitality box. I have a little Italian, although we conversed mainly in french which GP speaks very well. He said that although he was a little disappointed about recent results and performances, especially Spurs, overall he was very satisfied with the way Walter was going about molding the team, and that there would be funds made available for a couple of significant signings before the end of January. He said that it would take a couple more years of consolidation before we had a squad depth to mount a serious assault on the European places.

None of the above actually happened, just an imaginary conversation I had. But it may be more or less accurate than other speculation.

good post agree completely but we all know all the team know and wally and his team all know they will be gone by the summer so whats that going to do for the teams spirits will it be like last season with QSF .

Not that I am overly optimistic about the upcoming games but I don't see how you can say we have "gone close". We are 8-1 to be relegated with the bookies. If we were to beat Burnley I think you'll be looking at over 10-1.

As things stand from the bookies point of view that isn't close.

    Don't won't to cause unnecessary alarm but 8-1 were the exact odds on Brexit the day before the referendum;

We were bound to hit a bad spell at some point in the season, although I haven't been happy with the style of play of late and the perceived effort, I would rather have a mid season dip rather than a poor start or finish to the season. At least we have time to try and grind out the results to keep us up
