Even if they sell half the tickets for Wembley that's still more people in the ground than at WHL. They could halve the prices and fill Wembley and they'd still be doing alright...

I want to make it clear I am not anti-Spurs by any means. Although they beat the Horns comprehensively H and A last season, they played some scintillating football and wanted them to win the title just for a change. It's not for me to challenge their business model. My offence and temerity was to suggest making a bid for Kevin Wimmer. Still don't think despite the facts and figures that either Levy or Spurs are perfect - no club is. Certainly Gomes was treated badly and Capoue was ditched and happy to come to Watford. I will look forward to going to Wembley next year despite the fact we are likely to be beaten. But forever a Hornet since 1980.

They will do ok but they don't expect it to be a goldmine. She reckons that they expect as many as 30000 short of capacity for some games. They are definitely considering the idea of not selling the upper tier.

She's not involved in the playing side directly. She's across the budgets and financial planning though.

She did say that the club are expecting a more difficult season than last year and are worried that what happened to WHU could happen to them. They think that some teams will up their game because it is Wembley and it won't feel like a home game for them. Although the away allocation may be generous they are wary of allowing too many away fans because it might make it seem more like a neutral ground so may prefer to leave them unsold.

Hence why I started each reply explaining that I could see your thinking. No one disagreed with making a bid for Wimmer. People did disagree with the ability to get him on the cheap, that's all.

Why are we talking about Spurs on a Peñaranda thread?

Fair do's! Unfortunately nobody is cheap in the EPL. Still staggered by the report that Asambalonga could be on 60k a week in the second tier or Chelsea wanted Chalobah to stay if he signed up to a package worth 17 million over 5 years. Everything has gone crazy money wise but think WFC and Spurs are better run than most in their different ways by guys who know the football business. Ah and no news on Penaranda I'm afraid. Gonna send him to San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. Needs a work permit innit.
