If true, it seems that they are only bringing in as a backup to Holebas. It looks as if they are happy with Holebas being the priority left back...

Don't get me wrong, I love Holebas in the sense that his attitude is 2nd to none, he has still got pace and he can occasionally get some very important goals.

However, he does have three main set backs though. His age, his defending and his discipline. Those three alone imply we do need a new left back, and a good one at that!

It's a shame he wasnt 8 years younger or otherwise I would rate him over many other left backs in the league currently.

 

If Gibbs was plan a then this guy must of been plan e or f. Has made 93 appearances in 10 seasons in lower level leagues by the look of it. Hopefully Mason might get a few games in in the FA Cup and at the tail end of the season if we are safe.

Would be a very disappointing end to the search for a left back. Given MS stated this position as a priority I can't believe this was the outcome he was expecting.

 

Looks a shoe in for the Britos role. A big thumbs up from me.

To be honest never seen this guy play, but the fact he hasn't managed a cap for Holland is a worry to say the very least.

Played with Cathcart for Blackpool. Seems like a cheap alternative to Gibbs - money will be spent elsewhere.

Agreed. In my view it would cost a fortune to get a BETTER left back than Holebas, certainly Gibbs would not be an upgrade. If you managed to get this better player, Holebas would not hang around as cover so you would be back to square one looking for another left back.

This bloke will do to sit on the bench whilst we try and develop Mason who should now go out on loan to a Championship club.

 

Seems passable for a second choice left back. Can always reassess in January.

More Holebas is only a good thing.

If Mason goes on loan, I highly suspect it will be to League One. Too much to play for in the Championship at both ends for a team to be blooding someone else’s 19yo full-back.

 

Yes we could at least let him play the equivalent of 2 full games before stating what a poor buy he is like Gray.
