It does sound like his form can zig zag from one extreme to the other, but you have to imagine he's here to show the world that he can cut it in the Premier League. Who knows, could be the surprise signing that really steals the show.

 

I don't know what everyone's arguing about, and can't be arsed to skim read back through the thread to get to the crux of it, so that I can pick a side and mock the other.

I do know that ITK Jim isn't ITK though.

 

No not at all of course they can, but reading the guys posts he clearly is not Portuguese as much as he claims to be. They way he writes tells me that he is pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. As an English major who has studied multiple languages and in constant communication with people from various countries, a "foreigner" wouldn't know how to use the English language the way he has used it.

 

With regard to Portuguese football being of a sub standard they have produced an international side that has won something. English football is miles from that.
On the player himself, he is clearly back up to Holebas which we desperately needed and with Holebas and his disciplinary record I'm sure we will find out for ourselves if he's any good but does sound as though he might be more suited to the PL than a slower League like Portugal

 

Okay. That’s opinion more than fact. I’d say there are a couple of dodgy accounts on here...I’m not sure ‘kess’ is one given the fact he has shown a trail to show he is legit. You can do as many degree’s in English or Portugese as you want but the guy has shown evidence to you that he’s a legitimate fan coming in peace. I like reading your posts normally but I really don’t understand the issue here.

I would also point to the fact that you are happy to state you are an ‘English major who has studied multiple languages’...just check the message you sent. It’s lacking in basic grammar. Generally that’s okay, it’s a football forum. But it’s not great when you are replying and trying to attack someone for their language and grammar. It looks a bit silly mate.

Maybe it is a fake account. Maybe you could be sarcastic when replying to it. But don’t be xenophobic.

It is totally an opinion. I accept that. Normally when someone wants to come on here and give it large in a subtle belittling way, 9.9/10 they are a troll. So I gave it large back to him and he bit because he didn't like it.

I know Zeegelaar wasn't the best LB in the Portuguese league. However a fan of the Portuguese league like he claims to be, would have been able to list of multiple players names who are better. Not just state "he was Sportings 4th best LB" when he played 26 games for them last season. I know injuries hampered Sporting at LB last season but no other Sporting fan has claimed he was their 4th best. So he's talking nonsense.

He then claims "he can count atleast 4 other LB's in the league better than him." I would bleedin hope so considering he just stated he was Sporting's 4th best. So that makes no sense. Then he didn't even name them. Once he reads this, he will go get his info from FIFA and post the LB's with a higher overall rating than Zeegelaar. This guy might be legit but I doubt it, because what he is saying clearly doesn't add up.

Even his comments about the "big 3 in Portugal" are laughable. Over 38 games in the Prem those "top 3" would finish 9th or lower simply because it's a totally different way of playing football than what they are use too.

 

i didn't major in it (because i went to an english university at a time when majors didn't exist perhaps) but i do speak portuguese and live in a portuguese country. i would have said the opposite in that, while occasionally showing a preference for british english over american english (which is odd) and also switching from high level to low level, there are all the hallmarks of someone who thinks structurally in portuguese and then writes in the english.

 

I think you're mistaken on this occasion and your post came across as pretty unnecessary all in all.

 

Personally I can't be arsed with trying to work out who's a troll, who's legit, who might have multiple accounts and ergo who a suspected troll might be.

I only have one account. Shoot from the hip (occasionally a bit o.t.t. I'll admit) but generally stand by what I say. Nothing to hide and easy to find in person at the Vic. too.

Those who feel the need to travel incognito and play some sort of silly game with multiple accounts are simply being self-indulgent and feeding their own egos (or lack of them) rather than being up-front and discussing issues surrounding WFC at face value which I thought was the point of these forums.

Sad really.
