Wow.....we've got a new manager already......SkySports have just announced, but they have not released the name yet.

He's new to English football and will have funds in the transfer market.......more to follow.

No, much as I wanted him to turn it round and actually thought he could, it's the right decision

 

Worry that Sky Sports are saying the new manager, is new to the Premier league and new to England. Oh dear. The one positive is that the new manager is going to be given funds in the transfer window

 

Nope. I just am not the first in line to criticise. I also have the humility to admit I was wrong. As I said to you last night, go through my many posts and you'll see I was critical of Silva so hardly to the core.

For the record, I was never Silva to the core at all. I am Watford to the core and felt that the club needed stability that didn't come from sacking another manager. I am happy to have been proven wrong by the clubs statement and can accept that he would not have turned it round now that the rumours behind the scenes are proven to have foundation. I support the club. Not the manager.

I have only ever given my opinion, sometimes its wrong, sometimes right.

 

Gino has had to pay him 18 months salary to get him out the club.. got to respect that. True love.

 

Looks to me like he's gone on a breach of contract, which could mean no compensation. Gino has a history of a first season loyalty clauses (a la Troy), and will, I feel sure, have run the situation past the solicitors.

Boy! Silva must have really peed Gino off. He can pee the rest of us off as much as he likes, but he's not going to last long once he's hacked off the big man.

Rumour on twitter saying there was a horses head in Marco's bed this morning with the resignation letter in it's mouth.

 

I think many of us here have changed our tune, and that's natural.

I thought Silva was a great appointment.

I was so excited after we beat Arsenal and dreamt of Europe.

I was horrified by the Everton approach and applauded our owners for their tough stance.

I wanted Silva to stay.

Then results went bad.

I stuck with Silva because it might have been a blip.

Then stories came out about his attitude, and mind not totally focussed on us.

Things didn't feel right.

Then came defeat after defeat. Excuses. Obvious issues behind the scenes.

Nothing wrong at all with anybody changing their mind about him, because it's been the fastest fall from grace I can ever remember at WFC (other than Billy McKinlay).

 

No Watford manager 'has funds to spend'. It means maybe that nice Gino will buy him a player or two, or loan one from Udinese.

A thought - Moshiri (the ****) was willing to pay Watford £15m; they could sack Allardyce, pay him off with, say, £8m, sign Silva and be quids in!

 

Overwhelming feeling of sadness. Today vs how it all felt before Everton came along. Its gone from unbelievably good to **** so quickly. Hopefully the right appt and a bit of investment will turn things again.

Wouldn't be surprised if this happens. The snake probably engineered his sacking so that he gets substantial compo and then immediately gets another job. BFS should be worried.

Sums it up well. Our perfomances early on were real high points in our recent story. But boy is success fragile (not Isaac Notasuccess, but he is too).

Yes.

On reading it again, it looks like, should we end up going down (no pun intended), we'll be suing the bot off of Everton. Gotta love Gino.

Have to say, it is not beyond reason that we could also sew Silva for his wages since he chose not to openly turn down the Everton offer, on the grounds that he was no longer acting in his employers best interests.

I know he was mentioned in November but also read it in a paper this week he was being lined up for a summer move to Watford

Yeah his Italy form was not great but he had a decent club record overall in terms of escaping relegation but mostly never managed more than mediocrity once that was achieved

I think a championship manager would be better suited as that's our current form and we are gritty and rough and ready

They heard it incorrectly. It's Cherrie Gracie former BBC China correspondent. She'll find out they are paying her less than Marco, she'll be off and we'll be back to square one.

 

Please please please don't bring in an inexperienced overseas coach with no experience of our league. Especially one with a very average CV. This could be the moment our luck finally runs out if we do.

 

Whilst it is easy to say with hindsight, Silva needed to categorically reject the Everton approach or he should have gone at the time. He wanted to go that is clear. We were always going to have a bad run of results and people and inevitably the finger has been pointed at the Everton approach, which has probably made things worse. I feel for the owners. Had they let Silva go and the results gone bad, people would have said that they should have kept Silva.

 

Its yours to the end of the season as long as your answer to the following Q is deemed acceptable.
