Is Marco Silva all that?

QSF's football was about as attractive as a broken glass sandwich. Horrible, horrible, awful football to watch. Playing Capoue on the wing just to defend, not to play. Strikers covering full-backs in 4-6-0 formation with no ambition to attack. Absolutely no work in training in anything but defending.

British coaches get bad mouthed for being negative these days, but even Pulis looks gung-ho next to that *****. It used to seriously depress me when he got serenaded by the torch waving ****s amongst us. I never want to see anything like that type of football at Watford ever again.

May not matter if Tom Cleverley still ends up one on one for a header with the biggest bloke on the pitch.

Spot on. The second half of QSF season was the worst football I've ever seen in all my years supporting the club. That's no exaggeration. The only time shopping with the missus has seemed like a more attractive proposition.

But he looked a bit like that nob end from House so it was all ok.

Not quite as bad as the Bassett era. It did at least have a few high spots.

Walter's one saving grace, after a season of QSF, was that he at least realised that the game is about attacking as well as defending.

If I just read the stats right, Walter and QSF both had 40 goals scored in their 38 league games. QSF had 18 less conceded.

Absolutely disagree. The second half of QSF was off the scale on the boredom scale. I suspect most people have erased it from their memory.

And plus, he looked a bit like the chap of House, so gets a pass.

Walter's football was turgid. I felt embarrassed that a couple of days after she'd lost her husband, poor Rita had to witness us grinding out the least inspiring 0-0 draw I can remember at home to Boro.

Flores shouldn't get any credit for anything to do with our attacking play that season, because he never worked on it, and actually bollocked the players after the Liverpool game for thinking they were good enough to go on the offensive as much as they did.

I don't know what he did and didn't work on, but you're right about credit. He got lucky with Deeney and Ighalo as he only ever intended to play one of them at a time. They created goals for each other with very little help from the rest of the team. Once Ighalo's goals dried up QSF was found wanting and had nothing.

But he did so well for little Watford and the monsters who run this club were wrong to get rid of him according to the media?

Well we were safe in April and then lost our last 6 games. The manager knew he was off and so did the players. We were never in any danger of relegation we just gave up at 40 points. We’ve also got a significantly more valuable squad than you. Richarlison will be sold for more than your entire team is worth, as will Doucoure.

Edit: As for our upcoming game against you, if we can score one goal we are guaranteed at least a point.

If Marco really wanted to go to Everton that much I believe he would have put in a request already.

Ralf Rangnick moving in the odds quickly now. Currently director of sports at Leipzig.

Can't see it myself, Everton only seem to go for people who are currently managers .

There's only two explanations for the complete radio silence on this:

    (a) All 3 parties are in negotiations.
    (b) Everton have given up and are hardly likely to broadcast it. We've got nothing to broadcast in this scenario.

If it was (a) then something would have leaked by now by someone.

The silence is because Watford shut Everton down for a second time on Sunday. Seriously how many times do we have to say no before the criminal in charge of Everton gets it. Unless the silence is because he is trying to borrow more money from Usmanov at Arsenal to pay for Silva?

It’s comical that most Everton fans are deluded enough to think that Silva any day now is going to kick up a fuss and resign. The moment he does that is the moment he gets placed on gardening leave and won’t manage Everton anyway. Yes we will be paying his salary for the next 18months but you don’t screw with the Pozzo’s.

In all seriousness though I personally think this is dead in the water, Everton are just trying to save face now.

I use to like Everton and would always want them to beat Liverpool but this tapped up pursuit of Silva is seriously making me begin to hate them. Not that they or any of their fans care whether I like them or not but still, I am about to put them in the same bracket as Bournemouth, Chelsea, Arsenal, Stoke, West Brom, Palace, Leeds and Ipswich.

Maybe they're going for Ragnick to replace Walsh and bring Tuchel as manager.

The media pundits and mainstream sports press are idiots. Utterly clueless the lot of them. The problem is, unless you support the team they're talking about most people just take what is said for gospel.

I think this would be the right thing to do, yes we would miss out on the compensation money but it would send a message out. What kind of message would it send to our next successful manager and other clubs if we just let Marco resign.

How about this. The Pozzos come up with the replacement for Silva that would happen in a season and half. He can go on loan to Everton til the end of the season. If he does well there and better than Silva we will have him back here and they can have Silva for £20 Million. Loan fee of say £10 plus they pay the guys wages.

Not a good day today for Everton what with the Niasse ban for diving and the £26,000 fine for that scuffle a few weeks back involving that baby wielding thug. It seems they're in the press for all the wrong reasons at the moment . At least Bolassie is back in training for them.

Rangnick has more of the Pozzo-esque "buy young players I've never heard of and make them superstars" about him. Built up Hoffenheim and now Leipzig with the likes of Demba Ba and Vedad Ibisevic, albeit with a massive budget to get everyone the scouts recommended. I'd like to see him in the Premier League, preferably with Everton....

MS drifting a bit to reflect interest in Rangnick, but still odds on. Best bet is to lay him on Betfair.
