I'm totally crying that you feel that way, heartbroken.

I'm going to tweet Vydra and tell him you've been mean to me.

I don't remember much soul searching when the Pozzos took over, more an overwhelming sense of relief that Baz had gone and a tinge of anticipation.
One player coming back isn't going to improve team morale, determination and tactics.

A new manager could do these things.

Lets not forget if we were top 6 Zola could be be on his way to The Hawthorns anyway.

Boring mate, go clap Zola off the pitch once more until we're 20th.

Guys, end the personal stuff please.

You're both decent posters but disagree on a point. There's no need to start a fight over it, although it looks like one of those fights in Dynasty, where a woman slaps a man, he slaps her back, then they pause, before passionately kissing and ****ing on the desk.

    I don't hate him really.

    Just can't stand the hypocrisy.

Surprised you watch Dynasty though Moog.

It wasn't an error it was an unprofessional abortion.

    Totally over rated

As for Faraoni, he is consistently average and shirks challenges. Though the same could be said about nearly all the imports.

Nah you're right, perhaps I need a break from this place as clearly I'm not the same level as Watford fan as all of the others.

We all need a break from this place, but just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in!

He doesn't want to change anything. He just wants to sit clapping mindlessly when we lose our 8th home match in a row.

What is so wrong about clapping your team off after they play alright? Yes there were a number of individual errors yesterday but Wednesday weren't even in the game. If we had someone who could put the ball in the net we'd have won. The players out there tried bloody hard to do this though so I clapped them off.

GD. Like you no doubt I've seen my fair share of entertaining/unlucky defeats just like I've sat through some really dull undeserved victories in my time following this club. So don't paint me as someone who can't enjoy a match in it's own right even if the result doesn't go our way. But football is about winning. We're just lucky (and I mean that totally seriously) enough to support a club which hasn't been overly successful at doing that over the years so we're forced to look for positives elsewhere. It gives you a much more balanced longer-term view of where things are going. So yeah, it's great that the East Stand is being built and we turned a profit last year. Those things will benefit this club long after Zola has moved on and as a Watford fan I can take genuine pleasure in those things being done where maybe an Arsenal or Everton fan would take them for granted.

None of that though helped me to find that game entertaining yesterday. And I'm not convinced there's some kind of buy off where someone can say, "Hey, we might be having our worst home form for 23 years but at least Lindley Catering are drawing up visionary plans for the SW corner". Why can't we get both things right?

Plus this isn't about being impatient as you suggest. There's no time I can think of since I've been following this club (mid-nineties) where the current form would have been acceptable. Even if every defeat had been a rip-roaring 4-3 Zolacoaster there still has to come a point where 5 home defeats in a row is indefensible. The fact that we've not scored in 4 and the games have been insipid surrenders just makes things worse.

The difficulty is where to draw the line. I genuinely fear that this team will be dragged into a relegation scrap and that they are totally unsuitable for such a fight. Even last year, at our best, teams like Bristol City and Peterborough beat us because of complacency in our team. Now we've played Yeovil and Sheff Weds with everything to fight for and lost to both. That's the big worry for me.

We have played 3 consecutive home games against teams at the bottom and lost all of them without scoring. What do you think a player as good as Faraoni thinks when he looks up and sees you clapping? Do you think it inspires him?

I think he has enough personal pride to want to win and seeing that the fans are still behind him would only motivate him further.

RRC outrageous comment re Angella. Also Faraoni has been one of our better players this season.
    Imo you are talking ****e.

I agree. Naturally the bad run has influenced many of our opinions on the current playing staff but lets not forget the contribution of some of the players BEFORE it started.

Angella looked total class back in August, and maybe he is now being judged unfairly by the very high standards he set back then, including his goal threat.

And Faraoni could hardly be described as average in the great fight back at Reading or in many of the other games he started in August and September.

Truth is, for reasons I can't fathom, we've hit a nightmare run and, except in patches, nobody's emerged with that much credit.

I've not seen every match live this season but I've rated Faraoni when I've seen him, I think Angella might look much better in the flat back 4 system we're now adopting, Fabbrini does seem a luxury player when you consider we already have Forestieri, jury's still out on Iriney but with mitigating circumstances (new country, not played every match regularly etc) while Acuna's not been the prolific striker we hoped (though again he's not played much)

What? Why is it unfair to judge him by the standards he has set himself?

He's positioned the bar, not us. It's absolutely correct that we should expect a highly paid professional to maintain standards. I don't think the majority of Watford fans expect miracles from players, but we do appreciate players who demonstrate that they care, whatever their technical ability.

If you ask me, he needs a bit more of a no-nonsense manager to keep him on his toes.

  25. Malteser

    Malteser Squad Player

Yeah but what I meant was the first 2-3 games he also scored 3 goals as well as looking classy at the back. So maybe expectations were raised unnaturally high...

I'd like to see Angella as part of a back two, as I don't think he's most comfortable in a back three.

My post was part in reply to somebody saying Angella and Faraoni (and a few others) have been poor signings and I was just commenting that they've had some good matches too, although as we're on a terrible run it's hard to actually remember a day when the team was playing well.

I see what you mean. It would be unfair to expect a central defender to maintain that sort of scoring ratio.

We all get carried away at times. There were posts here saying he could get 10+ goals for the season..but of course he's not scored since August.

That's yet another disappointing thing about this season SO FAR. Last year, 5 of our central defenders weighed in with goals.

I believe that in football as with society, black people have to try much harder to attain the same level of acceptance as white people.

I do not believe Watford fans are any more/less racist than any other set of fans.

RRC I dont think of Doyley, Nos as black or Angella as white I just think of them as Watford players.
IMO your comments are of the ilk that brings racism to the fore when its not even an issue here. A comment/view regarding Angella's performances/ability and out of nowhere you say that. Mind boggling mate.

  34. I'll bet the posts who are asking for Zola's head were the ones shouting loudest about Judas's like Rodgers and Malky.

Me, I really don't know but the honourable person in me thinks we should give him another window to sort it out. If only for the Leicester game he has earned that.

If we don't make the play offs so be it, who gave us the God given right? The Pozzos won't be going anywhere. Well get there eventually.

If Zola is still here by the next match, then it will show that the snr Gino will not fire Zola because the x hair is right on sacking right at this moment. If he is going to do it, it would be now!
I think there probably is, at this moment in time, now a majority that show Watford supporters want to see a change of management. But I think any noise will be on deaf ears, the Pozzos have their man in Zola, he was able to produce a style of play that pleased them last season and now they are free of embargos and have a full control of their player movements we could see those that are under performing moved around elsewhere and the necessary resources lined up, if not this transfer window but next.
For me, Zola has shown enough that with the right players he can produce. This season may now be a write off but it will be preparation for the next.
