But surely can't surprise you, unfortunately there are those who use forums, social media etc to launch personal attacks on players, these are pathetic individuals who wouldn't have the bottle to say them to the persons face.

Forget the Pozzos takeover and if Zola was our manager under old owners he would have been sacked by now.
Forget the nice bloke thing, this wins u f all.
Forget last season, he's been riding his luck for too long now and the form table does not lie.
No belief, no confidence, no chance of the play offs if he stays.
It's no good keep bringing in new players, it's like pimping an old Allegro with Rolls Royce parts but not giving it any wheels, it ain't going nowhere.
The dressing room has been lost and even Zola has stated he doesn't know what to do next!
What are we waiting for, nothing will change whilst he is there we are just papering over the cracks.
Act now whilst there is still time to make something from this season or prepare for a bottom 6 finish.

Elton John is performing on the XFactor tonight - maybe its a ploy...

Hes actually going on there to publicly sack Zola (as hes a bit of a god) and name the top 5 candidates for Watford manager, which we have to vote for by the end of the show!

I'm pretty racist to be fair. I'm just glad we can all let it out into the open as a group of supporters and stop having to cover it up.

Well, let's hear why you feel people are wrong. I've disagreed with thousands of posts on many forums down the years, and I've never demanded that a message board be shut down, not even tongue in cheek.

If you really do feel that strongly, then I'd like to hear your reasons.

    Nobody's denying he's a nice guy.

The level of racism in football disgusts me.

How many black coaches/managers are there? We need a Rooney rule.

And yes I'm still pi55ed off with Angella's brainstorm at Boro. Those two points would have kept us up.

I am still trying to understand what exactly you are trying to say here. I feel you have not explained your first comments sufficiently. You do not believe Watford fans are more or less racist that others. So are you saying there are racist Watford fans and thus they would have booed him if he was black? The club that whilst racism was prevalent in the early 80s across the terraces, brought in 2 Jamaican born players into top flight football, going on to represent England, that inspired a generation like myself to get into the game.

You then mention the Rooney rule later on as something of a side track as far as I can tell?

What the hell as this got to do with Zola's ability to manage or even Angell's poor skills at passing a football, which I do agree with you on there.

Starting to feel Layton has a point :dismay:

Of course there are racist Watford fans. I do not believe many exhibit racial hatred but many hold racist attitudes whether they are aware of them or not.

I also believe race had a part to play in the short lived Watford careers of Tony Agana, Rod Thomas and Worrell Sterling. Though admittedly not in the case of Moses Ashikodi.

Lets face it Barnes and Blissett were brilliant from the start of their careers and were accepted from the off.

Image is everything in society and Angella's homoerotic influences on many fans distract from his ability as a footballer.

I admit I may have used a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Don't let the posts from a handful of users let your opinion of the forum change.

It's good that we have different opinions being spoken of on here, some of which make me think the user is trolling or attempting to, but either way each to their own.

Every club has their "bunch" of fans who are similar to the people that get moaned about on here (from myself included). Man Utd fans have had constant success for the past 20+ years but the team was getting booed off within months of the start of the season. You won't hear those fans at the end of the season if Moyes turns it around, same with Watford and Zola if he's still around.

Hear them doing what Smithy? This isn't people booing when we're 3-0 down while top of the league or moaning because we've finished 3rd rather than 2nd. These are people not happy because we've lost 5 on the bounce at home for the first time in 23 years and not scored in 4 of them. I'm pretty sure if form turns around they'll be perfectly happy so of course they won't still be disgruntled.

Moaning about the squad, Zola, Nani, Assombalonga transfer, Pozzos (this one is the worst). Or coming out with that Watford fans are secretly members of the NF.

Agana - We gave him the chance from non-league football, signed by Bassett, Harry get sacked so he joins back up with him at Sheff United.
Thomas - My favourite ever player possibly after Barnes, got England youth recognition and was predicted to be the next big thing but his career fizzled out and ended up at Carlisle. McNamee was perhaps the more modern equivalent?
Sterling - Started out in the top league but didn't have the ability for top flight football ended up being a solid lower league player in the basement divisions.

You could say the similar things about Perpetetuni, Friskin, Bakali, Lee Johnstone etc. Im my opinion, it always been ability not race with us.

Not sure on the Angella comment either, personally I am more of a Casetti man and even then, I can't understand why he played ahead of Pudil on Saturday.

HB, I appreciate interpreting a story (esp in The Mirror) is a matter of opinion but actually I think the story DOES support the headline

I know we mustn't C&P the story but look at some extracts:

left Zola considering his future after Saturday’s 1-0 loss against struggling Sheffield Wednesday and admitting he had “some considerations to make overnight.”

asked if he feared for his job. He replied: “I love what I do and I’m responsible for what I do – and I know that if I’m not doing a good job, I do something else.

“That’s what I have to consider. I love being here, but I want to be helpful – and if I’m not, someone else will be. The fans have always been supportive and good to me, but this is a game where you need to get results and not just play good football.

I think he's taken the weekend and has done some soul searching. Knowing Zola he could well do the honourable thing and offer his resignation in the morning, but the doesn't mean the Pozzo's will accept it. I do think this is a personal crisis point for Zola though. If he really is doubting himself then from that point it only usually goes one way.

The way I see the situation is that Zola needs some help. Bringing his friend in the summer might have seemed like a good idea at the time and of course it's important for Zola to surround himself with his people, but there's no replacement for experience. Even top managers have good experienced men around them.
