‘Lighties’ refers to mixed-race women and is seen as a term of affection/endearment. It doesn’t refer to white people. The opposite term doesn’t hold the same affection or meaning and is commonly viewed as racist.
So it is still a reference to skin colour then. But even using that logic, what is a lighty to a black man, would be a darky to a white person..... wouldn't it? See the can of worms that gets opened when snowflakes, see offence everywhere, and use the race card at the drop of a hat?
How is it "a term of affection" when you say you "hate" them?? Saying you "hate" an entire group of purely based on their race and/or the colour of their skin is racism; it's not very complicated.
It's not necessarily a term of affection, or endearment. Andre was wrong to say he hates a group of people, but the term he used is not generally considered a slur.
Not being a POC I don’t know. I’m not embedded in their culture so couldn’t comment. I’m only passing on the very basic understanding of what I do know and is freely available to find out. And at this point, I’ll bow out of this topic...
Just pointing out how hypocritical some people can be, and asking why some terminology is acceptable when the opposite isn't. It's in that same stupid area where black guys freely use the N word, but are mortified if a white guy uses it...... bottom line is it a bad word or not, YES! so nobody should use it. Personally I don't give a toss, I don't use either term, never would.
And it doesn't need to be a slur for it to be racist when you're saying you hate an entire group of people based on their race/ethnicity, e.g. similarly "People of Colour" is not considered a slur, as per Burnsy's comment above, but if someone put the words "I hate" before it then it would land them in very hot water.
Have you ever stopped to think why that could be? You're getting yourself in a tizz about subjects you don't know much about. That's not a dig btw, you've got no reason to know much about it, and there's no obligation for you to. My first job I worked with some proper Soul boys " their reference" all three of them referred me as snowflake for the entire period we worked together. Not once did I take this as a racist comment towards me. Exactly where is the line drawn on something like this?

Perica's record last season looks pretty reasonable to be fair. He scored a goal every other game (or every 127 minutes if you prefer to look at it that way) for a fairly weak side in a comparable league.
