I predict no red card at all on Saturday. Reasoning? We've had 7 in 44 matches. So the chances are a bit less than 6:1.

Exactly. Wtf is going on? Still nearly 70 hours to go. Has Eddie Howe (Alan Tracy) gone into orbit wielding an enormous magnet slowing the earth's rotation to confuse? Come to think if it, Stroud's probably gone up there with him. Underhand tactics. B.stards.

Brighton vs Watford - 12.15PM KO - Amex Stadium

Since Harris is busy I thought i'd step up to the plate....

Saturday brings one of THE games of the season for Watford fans, one we've all been excited for/dreading in equal amounts. A win will see us maintain our lead over the rest of the league, a draw or loss, well, I just won't go there!

    Stats:

    • Brighton have only won 17% of the recent (since April 2012) games between the 2 clubs, with 50% of the games ending a draw (obviously meaning Watford win 33% of the time).
    • Watford have scored at least 2 goals in their last 8 away games
    • Watford have won their last 4 league games
    • Brighton have failed to score in their last 3 home games

    Match Info:

No new injury concerns for Watford that i'm aware of, Ekstrand and Murray remain absent though. No injuries for Brighton either as far as i'm aware!

    Line-ups:

Imagine Joka will start with a 3-5-2 to help combat Brightons 5 man midfield, here's what I went with:

The 3-5-2 looks good. However, if he were to go 4-3-1-2:

Gomes; Motta, Cathcart, Angella, Hoban; Guedioura, Watson, Tozser; Abdi; Vydra, Deeney

Subs: Bond, Paredes, Connolly, Anya, Munari, Forestieri, Ighalo

We win this one in spite of the weather and referee.

Saying a Watford win through force of habit and the need that we need to believe.

Just been on a couple of Brighton forums to see what they are saying (I wanted to know if they were up for it as fans) and they generally don't give a crap now they are safe. In fact they want to give their youngsters a run out. They also want us to win because of their rivalry with Bournemouth and the way that Norwich fans have trolled their forums bashing Chris Houghton. They really do want watford to get promoted. Hopefully they will take that into the ground on Saturday and cheer us on instead of their own team.

Agree with your team, except I think Ighalo will start. Even though he didn’t play that well on Saturday after coming on, and was getting angry at not being passed the ball. He probably just really wanted to be top scorer though and was trying too hard.

I went for Vydra as Dunk + Halford are about the same speed as an asthmatic ant carrying a bag of heavy shopping.

I'd wager that, like Forest they'll play a full strength team. No room for complacency.

3-5-2 definitely here. I'd say Ighalo instead of Vydra, with Fessi and Vydra both starting against Wednesday.

Would like to see Paredes and Anya.

    2-0 'orns.

Copying a post I made last night over to here, I would play the following based on the pace and quality of this line-up alone:

    Gomes

    Cathcart
    Angela
    Hoban

    Paredes
    Guedioura
    Watson
    Anya

    Abdi

    Deeney
    Vydra

Bench: Bond, Fessi, Tozser, Ighalo, Connolly (if fit else Layun), Pudil, Motta

    3-1 to the 'Orns

Vydra to start for pace and his happy hunting ground on TV.
    Ighalo to start vs SW

Quietly calmly confident for this as I don't have any fingernails left.

Bad day at the beach for The Hornets.

  32. Surely gotta be a win, even taking nerves into account (which tbh ,touch wood, doesn't seem to be affecting affect us as much as Muff - thought we played Brum relatively confidently), with Brighton's recent 5 games without winning I'm confident we can put a good few past the net...going for 3-1 win...(1 being a probable poor ref and dodgey penalty decision!)...;)

Agreed with the predicted team except that I expect to see Connolly replaced Hoban if fit.

Watford-Brighton was the last pre-Jokanovic match.
A disappointingly stingless WFC settled (IIRC) 3-5-1-1 with Vydra as a lonely striker scored and then became quite complacent and slow, until the equalizer arrived.
Yet McKinlay in interview seemed quite happy for a good point and an excellent defence.

The "sacking" (or rather not confirming his promotion to head coach) of McKinlay was debated quite a lot in that seemingly far away in time period.
In retrospective, I'd say it was one of the best&corageous moves Pozzo did since he arrived at WFC.

Quietly confident that our unblemished series of wins will continue. I'll go for a modest 4-0 to the Orns.
