Not sure how you can say Guedioura 'has only ever looked fantastic when we have seen him', assuming you mean this season (which is all QSF can judge him on), when until yesterday he's done nothing of note in admittedly extremely short appearances? Even yesterday he had all the time in the world to maraud forward because Villa had gone gung ho in search of an equaliser. Their tactical approach made him look much better. I was much more impressed with his defensive work, which is likely to be a better reflection of what he can offer us this season. He's not going to get the space Villa afforded him in a normal match.

And if you've been going to/watching the last few games you'd see a clear logical reason for Parades earning a start yesterday. He's been looking pretty good off of the bench and has contributed to some good results. He was dire yesterday but there was logic in picking him. I'm sure he'll be back on the bench for Norwich.

I've watched every game this season one way or another. JCP has done ok after a few appearances as sub after 70 minutes. He won a penalty in one game as well, great. he earned a start after performing OK as a sub with most of the game gone, yet AG performing as he did has been largely dismissed because he came in late in the game against tired opposition.

 

I thought Quique said he'll start him when his passing improves with no mention of fitness issues.

 

He's said a few times that he wasn't fit enough to play when he got here.

I don't think it has been largely dismissed at all. It was good stuff and if QSF is consistent we can expect Guedioura to get a couple more lengthy appearances from the bench now. He may even go straight into the team. But context is important. It wasn't about Villa being tired opposition, it was about them not even defending properly by that point.

Guediora's performance was the best from an attacking substitute since Ighalo at Everton. Given that Norwich will be physical and in our face, I don't want us to be bullied like last season - for that reason I would put Guediora above Paredes, Anya and Jurado in the pecking order for the next game.

 

Paredes looked like a lost boy for most of the game - Guedioura looked at home.

 

I'd actually put my Gran in the pecking order above Jurado, I guess most regular forum readers will be aware of that!

I'm desperate for him to play. If he doesnt start against norwich then you wonder what he has to do to impress the manager. Once he's in I reckon he will make himself impossible to drop. This is my hope anyway. It's not even like his inclusion would disrupt the shape of the team.

I would love for jurado to come good though I must admit.

 

It's still relevant to him being out of the team though. The point was he didn't play in pre season and have chance to impress like the others, all the late signings have struggled to grab a spot in the team.

 

I've never met your gran, but I would prefer her to Jurado too. I hope that we've seen the back of him now.

Agree on both points.

Give Gueds a go QSF FFS. If he fails fair enough, but he deserves a chance so show what he can do.

He may not be suited to the Prem, time will tell, but Jurado is a class act. I love the way he plays football & he seems like a decent guy.

 

Seen it mentioned elsewhere around here somewhere, I suspect 4 - diamond - 2 might suit us well

If by right wing you mean right central midfield then yes.

Whatever its called it feels like a bad idea. I accept that we didn't play great against Man Utd in first half and first half against villa it was wave after wave. But we nearly got a point against Utd and 3 against Villa, so not sure ripping up the midfield and starting again is a good idea.

I'd keep him on the bench but coming on earlier to give Almen or Ettiene ne a rest, and to do what he does coming on an invigorating our midfield.
