Good, hope he gets his chance and impresses QSF At least Gued knows how to knock in an accurate cross and did play some cracking passes last season .

It's good that he has a ready made excuse for not coming into the side, dribbling around the entire opposition team and scoring three goals with one shot.

 

if he plays badly due to lack of game time then our fans will give him time and the benefit of the doubt.

I just wish those fans would do the same for berghuis, who has still played less than 90mins of football this season

 

In Berghuis case he's been a bit public about not really wanting to be here. It' look like its affected the effort he's put in and hence is performances. WFC fans are very generous when it comes to people putting effort in and happy to give people time.

I wouldn't say changes are only 'forced'.

I'd say ten minutes after players should be taken off, they occasionally are.

So chance certainly comes into the equation as well.

 

fair point Mike , must admit to being confused at most of our substitutions this season so far .

 

I think Berghuis has only ever stated that he was here for the long haul. I think most of us will give him time as there has moments of quality shown. Still think if he buried the chance vs Swansea there would be a lot different perspective to him then some are showing.

As for Gueds, his performances from last year could provide a boost to the team. Think Stoke away is the acid test. Normally quoted as anyhow.

 

I don't think Guediora will start. QSF was quoted in the Observer saying 'When he has good precision with the ball it will be the moment to put him on the pitch' - doesn't sound like it's imminent. This might go the heart of why QSF doesn't seem to rate him, Guediora takes more risks with his passing whereas QSF wants more emphasis on retaining the ball from the three behind the striker. I would like to see him play as he was our best crosser of the ball last year and also played the pass of the season at Derby, however, I imagine he'll be on the bench and will be lucky to get a couple of minutes.

I just hope QSF gives the guy a go sometime soon. After what he did for us last season it's surely worth seeing what he can do for us in the league. If he doesn't come up to scratch, fair enough, but at least give him a chance.

IMHO he's earned that. Also he might actually be good.

To a degree this is true, but we dominated play for 50 minutes against the A rse and our strikers fluffed their chances. Deeney in failing to shoot across Cech, Ighalo in not getting his shot away when clean through and Deeney in allowing his centre to be cut out. We also failed to use free kicks and other situations. So we are not really just waiting for something to happen - we are trying to improve. These may not have been unmissable chances but without question we were attacking and on the front foot.

Maybe you weren't watching. 'Dominated' doesn't mean 'pulverised'. It means we won more of the battles and territory.

After his seemingly desperate craving to get his move back here, do we think he'll now be questioning if he made a big, big mistake on passing up other opportunities to play about a combined 15 minutes in 3 months?

It's a real shame. So many games this season it's seemed like he's exactly the sort of player we could do with bringing on and he simply gets ignored.

 

Yep. Might as well go in January. Shame as I feel he could offer some drive and determination that we lack when we go behind.
