Who do we want to go in the next window & what do we want coming?

Perotti would be a great signing, and I think he'd be more encouraged by our current position. With regard to the settling in period, I'm not convinced it's a huge issue. I think we're already on the way to safety, so our need for players hit the ground running isn't as profound as, for example, Bournemouth.

As long as he's better than what we have, which I think he is, I'm sold.

Can't see us signing another foreign keeper, will probably be a Steve Harper type signing. Depends who leaves I guess, the Udinese guy could come back if there's room.

Agree that Perotti could be a great signing but WD Sport repeating that QSF has said he wants a player who can slot straight in.

 

Be surprised if Ibarbo went. Holebas seems certain to go. Diamanti just seems to have not worked and not sure why so may well go. Berghuis on loan somewhere maybe.
Not sure how far Ekstrand is away from playing but with Hoban that gives us 5 Center backs which seems a lot. Adam Johnson would be great but a court case means unlikely to happen. Is Perotti really that good? Genuine question as never seen him play.

 

I like Mowatt, the other two are getting more plaudits but I think he is the better player, him and Capoue in midfield would be quality imo..
Byram and Cook I don't think would fit into our system..

 

Why not? I understand the argument that he may not be good enough, but surely he fits in? Byram can defend and attack, and play anywhere along his side: full back, wing back and right midfield.

There isn't a 'system' in where he wouldn't fit in.

A back up for Deeney and Ighalo? Would be pretty tough on either of those to be dropped, so the new player would have to be prepared to sit in the bench. Of course the rumours Adebeyor, but it sounds like he could be signing for Chelsea. Weird as it sounds but he d probably have more chance of gametime at Chelsea than Watford.

Pretty sure we're after a non-commentary providing goalkeeper, a full back, a wing back, central defender, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, box to box midfielder, a couple of wingers and a striker.

 

Were it not for the fact that we are currently mid table in the best league in the world I'd be all for chucking out the whole squad & starting again quite frankly.

I'd have Andros Townsend in a heartbeat - I know he's a bit of a bell but surely he'll be playing out of his skin to get a place in the Euro squad. I imagine ball retention may be the issue with him for QSF as he does tend to go for the 'cut-in-and-shoot' 99 times out of 100

 

As you say, other than being a bell-end, having an issue with ball retention and shooting 99/100 times when given the ball, he's brilliant......

 

Sam Byram is available and should be cheap because of his contract situation. I'd love him here, he's been great every time i've seen him.

Probably because of the way Cellino has treated him. I would be pissed off and wouldn't want to play if I was him. He's a very good player.

Been mentioned before but Campbell on loan from Arsenal in Jan.

Hes done pretty well in last few weeks and isnt afraid of doing the hard work tracking back.

With Walcott, The Ox and Sanchez back by Jan, its going to be hard for him to even get a place on the bench.

 

They could even have Danny Wellbeck back by then, or he could be a good loan signing, work his way back to full match fitness, by being available to make sub appearances when needed. A quality player who wouldn't have the hump about being on the bench behind Troy and Iggy.
