Doubt any would move in January, but if those two teams went down I doubt there would be a club outside the top 6 in the Premier League not looking at at Janmaat, Krul, Perez, Cisse or Wijnaldum. Sissoko would be more likely to move to a team playing in Europe. Wouldn't say no to Tiote as an option in defensive midfield.

As for Villa, you'd be looking at Richards, Ayew, Traore, Gil, Amavi and Grealish from their squad.

All theoretical though. Long way to go this season. I'd be absolutely astonished if we make any signings in January from our fellow PL clubs. Because of the financial rewards next season, there's simply no benefit to weakening their teams at this point.

I really think Andros Townsend could be a great shout, if anyone can get him on a cheap deal and get the best out of him it would be the Pozzo's.

 

I agree, the way he cuts in and shoots and is direct when running at players is just what we need and fit into our system, would be a quality signing, him and Perroti please!

WD Sport reporting that QSF wants a winger in Jan that can settle straight away, which makes sense.

That means he already has to be playing in EPL , or possibly the Championship but even that move would likely require a transitional period.

Those requirements really narrows the field.

To me Townsend, seems like a fantastic option. Hes recently been sent to train with the U21 because of an altercation with one of the coaches, but I dont see that as a problem as he ll be keen to prove himself and has an outside chance of getting in Euro 16 squad if can start playing regularily.

I honestly cannot comprehend why anyone would want Townsend.

 

Not sure it limits us to signings from these shores to be honest. I take it to mean they'll be looking for an experienced player who is match fit and has the attributes to cope with the physicality and speed of the Premier League, rather than another Oulare or Berghuis.

 

I think Townsend would be a decent option although I'm not sure how keen he would be to do the defensive work that QSF requires every player to do.

It's been reported that Roma are looking to move Juan Iturbe on in January. I think we were linked with him in the summer (along with every other Roma player) and he may well make more of an impact that Ibarbo (not tough to do)

 

Townsend is another McGugan. Is given the ball, runs with it, cuts in, shoots, scores/misses (delete as applicable). Looks great in highlights when you just see the goals. I think he's a complete waste of space. Troy and Odion might as well just jog back to the halfway line every time he gets the ball. There must be better options out there.
