Spurs signed Holtby by a pre-contract (then brought it forward to sign in Jan instead) so surely we can do a similar thing?
http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/375556? that's an article today from the Daily and Sunday Express saying that he could well be off to the Prem in the summer, whilst Sky say he's signing for us.
The express has done a top rate job of digging up quotes that are two weeks old. Dare I suggest lazy journalism
Oh, half Arsenal half Watford fan? Considering he came out at the start of the transfer window and said he wanted to leave, I don't think it's really fair to criticise him. It's not like he waited until late August to decide he wanted out.
Also says in that article that he 'broke the deadlock' on saturday. Im pretty sure that the Sordell pen broke the deadlock. Lazy arse cahunt faces
Vydra’s agent Ondrej Chovanec last week said: "At the moment, five Premier League clubs are interested in Matej.....Agent speak for my player is getting lots of attention, come and look at him big boys and make me a fortune in commission "We want Matej to stay with Watford at least until the summer....Well unless he's recalled that's really his only option We are not planning any rush move for him....Again the window is shut, so no moves either rushed or sedentary" What a really, really lazy piece of journalistic crap.
I love how all agents are portrayed as evil. Yes he's trying to get Matej a good deal (his job), but that doesn't mean he's trying to force a move away.
It does as they earn more from a transfer themselves. It's the same thing as brokers not caring what you buy, it's that you buy, and often.
Not every agent is like that. The best ones know that they'd benefit from a player staying where he gets regular football, as they'd benefit later in their careers. It's not like they get nothing from renewing a contract.
The difference is, they brought it forward into a transfer window, the window is now shut, so we'd still have to wait until Summer before he's "officially" a Watford player.
That's probably why he's still got that terrible avatar. Too busy worshipping at the altar of Walcott.
I heard from a very reliable source within the club that QPR placed a bid for Vydra in january Amount = 15 MILLION I think that shows the Pozzos intelligence and willingness to see Watford succeed
No idea who your source is of course but for the sake of discussion I can't see them turning down £15m for him unless it was pennies up front and the rest contingent on aliens landing and Lord Lucan buying a season ticket at Loftus Road.
if that offer comes in during the close season and wfc have not gone up - they may take it - but at this stage £15m guarantreed compared to a potential £60m in the position wfc are actually in - why would they sell - 3/1 shot for promotion and vydra is still worth £15m or more in the close season if wfc do not go up - its a no brainer. The skill then is if wfc go up -and they were offered the same or a bit more -do they sell and invest in a premier proven striker or keep vydra - £15m is a lot of dosh how much more can he go up in value?
I think £15m now or in the summer would be his peak value. I get the point about £15m v £60m PYA but that's excluding the possibility that the Pozzo's don't just have someone else just as capable they could send to us in Vydra's place.
But sending someone now would be a detrement to the team that lets us have the player -and he would have to settle in a new team agianst a different type of player in the championship compared to la liga or seria a, though the style of football would be the same for the new player..
I have it from a source that Liverpool were also very interested and Mr Integrity expected a deal to be done for Matti in the January window.
