Probably fair me to reply to this now and say we should both be grateful he doesn’t start every week.
Bayo played like the academy player today. Horrendous touch, inaccurate passing, slow and just a complete lack of awareness of what was happening around him. Forget about the goal, Adeyemo genuinely looked better than him. It's disgusting how much we paid for a guy who clearly can't start games for us, he's a bench option at best.
Keinan Davis became a better player today and he wasn't even playing!. If you play CF then you need to learn the art of making the ball "stick" Bayo clearly has a lot to learn
Bayo quite clearly is a last 15 minutes player nothing more if Davis isn't back ASAP we need another cf as after Rotherham we have 6 tough matches and 4 away
Will be interesting to know what players / positions Bilic is demanding. Surely a new forward is a must. Bayo just isn’t up to it. I like Davis but surely we need a no9 that is of a similar standard. Not sure we need much else tbh. Maybe a centre half as one bad injury and we are down to the bare bones.
Good shout . Away at Middlesbrough for example we cannot have Bayo up top miscontroling/losing possession etc . These are the games that a decent CF can get you up the pitch\relieve pressure etc
Makes it even more shocking he was valued at £2M then dropped to £1M, yet we paid £5M. He's an impact sub at best, shouldn't be starting unless it's a league cup game. He's bagged four goals but has the awareness and touch of Gray.
His surly trudge when he was substituted was disappointing. His replacement scoring soon after was karma
Bilic wants a striker, midfielder and winger according to AF. Whether he'll get them is another matter, but Bayo's days are numbered.
Did himself no favours today. I suppose he was unlucky with his attempt 2nd half but apart from that his general all round play was nothing short of woeful. His touch and passing was Sunday league at the best. He didn't even look like he was putting himself about.
He stuffed up that 2nd half chance in my view. Looked like he was unmarked when he received the pull back and had half the goal to aim at but produced a saveable shot for their keeper. If he’d put his foot through it it’s a goal.
Disgraceful play today, couldn't control the ball and couldn't read the game. The young lad Ademayo, a 17 year old, showed him up today. Not just the goal, which was well taken, but he chased back, harried defenders and looked for space. Bayo's rating today is a negative number.
That trudge off the pitch was a disgrace. Looks like he was miffed at being replaced by a debutant. Disrespectful to the young sub and delaying the restart was against Watford's interests. Get rid as soon as we sign another striker.
I’m afraid because we paid such a high figure for him, he believes he is better than he actually is! The slow trudge off was a disgrace, us fans can accept a lack of skill but not a lack of effort!
Let’s face it both Bayo and Davis are largely ineffective albeit with the occasional moments of quality . As soon as Louza is back we should look at playing JP in striker role again and tell him to stick around the box rather than dropping deep like he seems to do, because in and around the 6 yard box is where the majority of goals come from . If JP got into the positions that Bayo has done all season he d be on 15+ goals by now . This will allow us to play Choudry, Kone and Louza as first choice midfield with the likes of Cleverly, Asprilla and Kayembe coming in first change.
Bayo's moments of quality (using that term very, very loosely) are less 'occasional" and more "once in a blue moon". An utterly terrible footballer who will pop up with the odd goal here and there.
Five million pounds did you say ? Another of the Mogi dubious specials a la Oulare. Awful value for money. You can sometimes forgive a weakness if the player is prepared to put the hard yards in. No sign of that yesterday either. He may turn it around but I would not bet on it. I mean surely a prerequisite for a footballer at this level is to have a modicum of ball control. Under Mbenga I hope this is the last of the dross Gino has taken on for whatever reason with his dealings with Mr.Shady. For five million you could have gone for Veliz for instance.
A particular highlight was in the centre circle during first half when he attempted to lay it off for Sarr first time, instead the ball just cannoned off his shin and went back towards our goal.
The question has to be is he worse than Andre Gray ? Now there's a question I thought that would be never asked. Total spend on these two appalling players £22M. Just imagine a half decent set of scouting picks and what we might have done.
His positioning in the box is very good. The trouble is, he's no good at controlling the ball or kicking or heading it in the required direction.
I do feel for him a bit. I don't think he's a sulky player, I just think that he was fully aware of how God awful he was yesterday, and his reaction was pure disappointment with himself. Icing on the cake was surely seeing your 17 old replacement score a chance he would have likely put away if he was on the end of it. Really want it to work for him. But yesterday was a damning indictment of his abilities. Still he's won us 7 points this season so he has made patchy but important contributions
