Maybe it’s me, but the download NFC mobile ticket option not operational to Apple Wallet

 

Not just you, I have the same issue on my Android to Google pay that it is not operational. Will try again later in the week and see if it works then.

 

I still can't download my ST, the download is shaded.

Other than for this, I don't use my phone to pay for anything.

 

Yeah still the same for me. I'm guessing they're working through it now as I'm seeing more and more people being able to do it.

 

Hurrah - shading on NFC download has gone and download now operational. Aston Villa ticket in the wallet. They must be releasing the tickets in batches. App deleted. I knew we would get there!

 

I don't use Google Pay for anything else and didn't have to do anything in that app before downloading the ticket from the Watford website. Sounds like they're just rolling them out gradually.

 

What do I need installed in my apple phone to download the ticket to? Apple Wallet, or this google pay thingie?

Can I have both mine and my brother's ticket in my wallet and vice versa does anyone know? Or can you only have the ticket downloaded once?

 

Is anybody using the app and accessing the tickets from there?
Logging into the tickets from the app never works for me, doing it from the website does work. Thanks for the tip.

What is the point of the app if it doesn't work and you need to go to the website.

 

There isn't a point to the app from a ticket perspective. They've abandoned it.

 

Thanks for the info, I had not noticed that in any communication from WFC.

 

I set it up, it took a minute or so, the longest part was resetting my password.

According to the email last week, there is the opportunity to test your ticket at the turnstiles between 9th and 13th August.

"During the week beginning Monday August 9 until Friday August 13, Season Ticket holders will be able to visit Vicarage Road Stadium to try out the new method of stadium entry. Turnstiles 29-36, in the southeast corner of the ground, will be available to all Season Ticket holders that wish to attend between 9am - 5.30pm."

 

There was a bit on an email they sent last week which says:

"Note: The official Watford FC App is NOT needed to access NFC Mobile Tickets."

I suppose 'abandoned' was a strong word though and I bet if they can get it working for next season, or probably during the season with matchday tickets, they'll try again.

 

I did see that, but not needed is very different from doesn't work

 

I doubt if it would be worth the effort, if people can use NFC using Google Pay or whatever Apple folk use then that will do.

 

Aye but if they can get the app working for tickets they can then drive a load of user traffic onto it and festoon it with ads etc. That may well be worth the effort in the long run.

 

You have to have the person registered under your buying privileges so that both season tickets are shown under the season ticket tab. I have not tried to share the same ticket by both downloading to an electronic wallet. Presumably you can (you can with airway tickets), and it is the first redemption at the turnstile that will negate the second download using the ticket for entry. But who knows until we go live on the 14th.

Now my only worry is closing it and not being able to find it again on my phone

 

After 2 days of the download option being greyed out, it has now come to life and I've managed to load my ST onto Google Pay.
Just need to remember to fully charge phone before each game.

Just done mine they could be doing it in alphabetical Surname order

I'm right at the bottom of the alphabet (and mine worked a couple of days ago) so it isn't that!

I imagine you're going to find it hard to download a paper ticket for the Palace friendly...

Ticket Format
Crystal Palace are issuing paper tickets for this game. Tickets purchased before 3pm on Wednesday August 4 will be posted to the address associated with the lead booker via Royal Mail. Tickets purchased after this game must be collected from the Ticketing & Supporter Services Office at Vicarage Road.

Has the ticket office got a new number. The website one goes through to supporter services and just rings off

 

Here's an idea - stay with me even though it's patently ridiculous sounding: How about - clubs issue tickets on paper and sends them to us. We take them to matches as proof of purchase and turnstile operators let us in! No giggling at the back please. Even better, what about a card that represents a whole season of matches! Crazy, huh? But clearly a lot more complicated than using an app that not everyone can access or understand, I can't seeing it catching on tbh.

 

Still not able to download or distribute my Villa tickets or STs.
