Leeds will lose KP and Raphina as a minimum though. I’d be surprised if Burnley lost any players other than maybe Cornet.

Brentford give away an embarrassing penalty right on half time. Comedy defending Watford would be proud of.

There have been some comical errors in this game.

  7. At least there's not much Everton bias in the sky commentary....

So forget about the rest of the pyramid entirely ? No thanks. Greed is the root of all the issues in football today. And that greed is never ending. The so called elite would still want to keep their hands around the necks of all the other clubs by pressuring and coercing the ruling bodies.

Aside from the fact that a lot of their players are getting on a bit and out of contract?

Um there would still be a pyramid. 3 or 4 champo teams would go up every season and 3 teams would be relegated from the champo to league 1 etc. There would also be potential for more non league teams to go into league 2. I'm not sure you understood my suggestion. 12 more clubs would be in the PL giving much more PL access and survivability for small clubs like Watford while at the same time creating more big games for tv rights. The 33rd, 34th and 35th best teams get promoted to the PL from the champo and theres potential for another via the play offs. It removes much of what is bad about the PL for clubs like watford without taking anything away from the top clubs and means about a third of league teams take part in the PL each season making it much more of an open house than a closed shop. Literally everyone is a winner.

You’re overcomplicating it massively. All we need is greater distribution of wealth further down the pyramid (could easily be achieved by cutting PP and reducing PL to 18 teams) and implementing a salary cap based on only TV revenue and match day revenue.

That would solve most of the issues at a stroke without the need for some crackpot numberwang system.

Yup. Thing is, Fwank extols the pushun and support of their fans but must be bricking it big time because the line between hordes of crazy scousers with smoke bombs cheering you on and hoards of crazy scousers with smoke bombs chasing you out of town is wafer thin.

I’m pretty sure Brentford fans just chanted to Everton ‘you’re going down with the Watford’

What have we ever done to them :(

Did those Brentford goals come because of concerted pressure or because Everton played too deep and/or hit the self-destruct button?

Either way, I’m not sure why Brentford were so eager to win the game when they have nothing to play for.

Brentford been all over them second half to be fair.

That's a damaging defeat. They still have Arsenal and Palarse I think to play.

    Everton imploded somewhat then ?

They'll hope not beating us doesn't come back to haunt them !

So take money away from the PL instead of generating more income and make our top teams less competitive in Europe and playing lower quality football? Great plan!

Indeed. Can't see Leeds catching them though unfortunately.

Brentford with more points than Watford and Norwich combined

Everton had a man sent-off, so it was an inevitable consequence of both.

Eriksen getting another assist or goal, has really transformed Brentford’s season.

People have understandably castigated the Rose signing, but really was Eriksen any less of a gamble? Stark difference is that theirs paid off and ours didn’t…

While picking up almost half of that total in just their last ten games :(

  33. a19tgg

We still didn’t equal their pre-Eriksen total until the point against Everton.

Eriksen was still class before his time out. Rose had been poor and unprofessional for a while previously.

One is a consummate professional and a couple of years ago was probably in the top 10/15 players in the world.

The other seems to fall out with every manager he plays for and hasn’t been good for over half a decade.
