The benefits of Brexit you ask ?

    Well here is one

Not being able to go to Majorca(Sant Jordi, Palma Nova, Cala d'Or) , Mainland Spain (Benalmedina) and Lanzarote . All of which I have been able to go to .

    Which begs the question

Which EU country has stopped you from visiting ?

Every single one will prevent you living there unless you meet the 3rd country requirements...which are significantly more severe than we used to enjoy whilst in the EU.

For example, in Spain a couple will now need to prove an income of at least €35k per year. Your wealthy middle class will be fine. The working class pensioner dreaming of retiring in Spain not so much.

But of course that's worth it for the sense of schadenfreude you seem to be deriving from a misguided belief that it's the wealthy that are some how suffering.

If you are an EU citizen then any. If you are an unskilled worker looking for an opportunity to work abroad then none.

You are not championing the poor in the way you think you are.

    A country. Any countr
So , a couple with limited access to cash , who could , in theory , but in reality not be able to relocate to Spain , are now unable to relocate to Spain , because of Brexit ? . Have you considered why that couple may have voted remain? Have you ever remotely even considered that those with a limited income give not one shiny shyte about your affluent issues ? #Askin'ForAPoorPerson

No shortage of unskilled workers you moron

There have been literally hundreds of thousands of pensioners, students and other low income groups that have relocated to the EU while we were members. They, and those that would have followed them give a "shiny *****".

The affluent, beyond a little extra expense, which they can well afford, are negatively impacted whatsoever.

And still I wait an actual benefit for those at the lower end of society from leaving the EU.

  11. Davy Crockett

    Davy Crockett Reservist

"Literally" huh ? How did they finance their move ?

  12. sydney_horn

    ???

So you don't give a shiny ***** for those who now can no longer live and work in the EU because they have no skills when in they could easily work there before.

And you claim to be a socialist?!

  13. Davy Crockett

    Answer the question Sid .
When did Brexit stop GB unemployed from relocating to Spain ?

  14. sydney_horn

    sydney_horn Squad Player

Literally 100 of thousands did, especially pensioners. Now Brexit made it much more difficult/impossible for the poorer in society.

Again, the affluent can pay the extra or prove their wealth (look up golden visa Spain) the poor are now stuffed.

When did socialism mean cutting off the opportunities for the less well off?

  15. sydney_horn

    sydney_horn Squad Player

I already have. It doesn't stop everyone but it does stop the unskilled and makes it more difficult for the skilled worker.

It also makes it very difficult to set up a business in the EU when it was a right we enjoyed as part of being in the EU.

Now you explain how leaving the EU has benefited you.

  16. Davy Crockett

    Literally!
And literally it is so good in the EU that people risk their lives crossing the channel
To get to this shyte hole

  18. sydney_horn

Ok. So, because you think that the EU is a shyte hole, it is acceptable to you that the poor that want to try a new life there are prevented from doing so.

The wealthy, who can pay, and are just inconvenienced are fine to carry on.

Remind me, who's side are you actually on?

  19. sydney_horn

So you just want to prevent others from following their dreams. Especially the less well off.

As long as you are happy then that's ok.

Which part don't you understand ?
Those without access to cash cannot get involved in the EU "live and work" lifestyle.

Those without access to cash to not give one shiny shyte about living and working abroad.
    They have more pressing concerns.

I suggest you try watching "Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun".

There has been a long history of UK citizens scraping a living in Spain and other EU countries since we joined the EU. There are literally 100s of 1000s of UK pensioners in the EU who would not qualify to live there now.

But you are still unable to answer how preventing these less well off people pursuing their dreams helps the nation? Or what Brexit benefit does.

I'm going to leave it there as I really can't stand socialists who really are falling for "the man's" message and are voting against the interests of the people they purport to support.

The wealthy are not worst off because of Brexit. If anything, they will benefit. The majority will be worse off and have fewer opportunities.

You really need to think about which side you are on.

    Bargain loving Brits ?
    Which episode showed the unemployed\destitute?

I’m reluctant to get involved with this, but wtf are you talking about?

Of course it’s irrelevant to the unemployed and destitute. Bit there are plenty of people who have scrimped and saved, and worked hard for 50 years, and as such have put aside a bit of money for their retirement and want to retire in the sun.

People like my in laws, in fact, who are certainly working class.

Now, if you were talking about retiring to the South of France, or Austria, or Germany, perhaps you might have a point. But Spain (and to a lesser extent Portugal and Greece) - plenty of those who are not affluent thought of going out there.

But it’s much harder to move out there now, isn’t it? My in laws would no longer entertain it.

There was the one with the unemployed gay guy that was a drug addict and had mental issues who stayed after going out on a cheap flight.

He is now running a successful business in Spain.

Couldn't do that now but that's ok because you have a bit of schadenfreude about the affluent middle class.

  30. Keighley

Well, of course it is because there is no longer freedom of movement.

    I don't know. I don't watch it . How many migrants?

  34. sydney_horn

    sydney_horn Squad Player

None. They only feature migrants that would have qualified under pre Brexit rules i.e those that got in, and completed the paperwork, before January 2020.

Do you know why? Because anyone who managed to achieve settled status since would certainly not have been "Bargain Loving Brits".

Only they middle class and wealthy (or skilled labour) can get that now. Not what I wanted. You?
