They’ve not sacked Edwards, so that statement is correct.

But he is setting himself up for a fall. I have no doubt SD believes RE to be the next big thing, but in reality he probably won’t be. So, if we start off slowly with around 12 points from the first 10 games, then what will he do?

I really can’t see SD sticking with the coach if we’re kicking around in mid table looking like also rans.

The first sign of a good communicator is to stop and think " how do my actions and what I am saying look to other people? ", Duxberry obviously doesn't have the capability of seeing how he looks in other peoples eyes, or he wouldn't say such a misleading statement as highlighted! after Zola, everyone was sacked as soon as the results and performances were not in their eyes good enough, to appoint a new coach and say they have changed their ways re changing coaches is plain stupid, if Pozzo was on the ball re communications he would see what a pathetic remark it is. Sort of thing a junior employee would say not a company Chairman/CEO!

 

I can't wait to throw all of these quotes back at Duxbury when they panic and sack Edwards in December. How I do that I'm not sure, I'll have to get myself into the fan committee.

This is exactly what will happen. If we’re not top 3or 4 in October then Edwards will be gone when the season stops for the World Cup break. Duxburys singing out praises and overconfidence of Edwards will bite him, yet again . Unfortunately Edwards CV shows no evidence that should be making Duxbury so confident that they have the right man.. In the end Edwards will go and Duxbury will stay, admitting no mistakes until he’s interviewed at the close season 2023.

 

FTRE said clearly there is no harm in him doing videos and if the club didn’t want him to, then he wouldn’t. So STOP WETTING THE BED OK?

Duxbury has already apparently told Ucko that 'Edwards isn't here to get us promoted, he's here to win us the league' or words to that effect. Tells you all you need to know about his mindset and how little he's changed his approach.

 

With all these Cabinet resignations so far, there wont be many ministers left with the gumption to stand against a PM in an untenable position ..... So maybe Boris will appoint Dux to a Cabinet position to stand by him .... he has certainly demonstrated many of Boris's qualities over the past few years.

The club supposedly cut all ties with him a while back. His latest articles would certainly back this up.

 

Do we think maybe Danny Rose could have been the source of some of the leaks that came out last season? I'm sure their paths would have crossed at some point in the last 10 years with Adam at SSN and Rose playing in the PL.

Also Adam had the exclusive(?) that Rose is training away from the training ground currently.

 

Appointing Duxbury has to be the biggest mistake in the history of our great club, if not the history of the entire sport.

Under his 'leadership' we have only gone BACKWARDS.

Without wanting to say it with certainty so as to not get the forum in any bother - the leaks in The Daily Mail regarding the team not backing Ranieri etc - followed the path you lay out above. So not hard to suspect that individual was talking elsewhere too.

 

I suspect Duxbury's main job is to be a human shield for Pozzo. If the owner wants to sack the manager after a dozen games it's Duxbury's job to face the front and take the criticism.

Boris Leventhal?

 

We don’t have an excellent squad.

We have a squad that has just taken us through statistically our worst season in the PL.

Players who might have done well this season are leaving, only to be replaced by cheap overseas punts who will most likely fail.

Our current defence has proved time and time again not to fit for purpose. We have barely any creativity in midfield. The strikers coming in or being strongly linked with us are inspiring nobody’s confidence.

The arrogance of those in charge is bemusing and it’s most likely they will receive a rude wake-up call a few weeks into the season.

 

With regards to the defence, the same guys achieved the joint best defensive record last time out. I agree they are nowhere near good enough for the Premier League but the are very good at Championship level and have proved that. We should be even better as Kamara and Samir are upgrades on what we had before.

 

I'm not sure it is the defence that is the main problem. Remember it is more or less the same players that got us promoted with the best defensive figures in the Championship. I accept however that they are two years older particularly in regard to Cathcart.

The midfield is the key area which is mid table standard at best.

The new strike force is an unknown. If Hungbo has developed, Asprilla is as good as predicted, plus Pedro, Kalu and Bayo I think they could be a handful.

 

Two years ago I was fitter than I am now and probably more alert and therefore better at my work.

My posts on here probably made more sense too.

There some merit in thinking the survivors of the last promotion campaign will be able to replicate that form again, but it’s not a gimme.

It’s a defence that barely kept a clean sheet last season. Of course we are now in a weaker league, but there’s not much evidence to build on that it can keep enough clean sheets to propel us to promotion.

And I fancy we will need clean sheets, because we don’t look so far like a side whose philosophy will be ‘we will score one more than you’. Of our current midfielders, I think only Gosling got on the scoresheet last season, and that on the final day.

Nobody seems confident any of our forwards will hit 10-15.
