Ayling is yet to sign a deal. The quote from Gary Johnson is: "Luke Ayling is under 24 so whoever takes him will have to pay compensation so I still see him in my head as still being with us unless a deal is done, which is good." so he could still come here, if we were willing to pay the compensation. Stech is out of contract and GJ expects him to leave. Same with Byron Webster. 27 year old, 6ft 4in centre half. Don't know too much about him but could be worth a punt? Ipswich and Leeds were reportedly after him.
Well, you're talking about three of their back 5 - given that this is a Watford forum and you were replying to a post saying Ayling would be an ideal signing, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that was what you were implying. Obviously I was wrong, and I sincerely apologise. Is it just me who's noticed that this forum has become more and more hostile recently?
Was just responding to Smudger, who said Ayling had signed a contract. And I was just musing about the other players out of contract in the summer. My reply wasn't meant to be hostile, sorry.
That's a mistake from them if they haven't tied him down. He has plenty of upside so to speak. We should go in for him. Angella-Hoban-Ayling sounds good to me. All three being decent on the ball as well to initiate attacks from the back.
Apologies for not adding to the current trend of adding a new thread for a suggestion, but what about giving Michael Mancienne a chance to kick start his career?
Michael Mancienne? Playing for Hamburg? In the Bundesliga? Does he need Watford to kick start his career?
That's the one Yes hamburg, the team that may get relegated Yes the bundesliga 40 appearances since 2011 hardly suggest he is setting the world alight there
I know we have just signed Dyer but Scott Sinclair must be a decent option Not cutting it at City, sent to WBA on loan and hasn't made the 1st team, the lad needs somewhere new to kick start his career. Another option from City AS A LOAN OPTION would be Jack Rodwell. A hell of a player who desperately needs game time and to regain his confidence. .
Sinclair could drop down to the Championship considering he couldn't even get a game at a relegation fighting team but think Rodwell will happily find himself at a Premier League side.
Wish I could dislike this twice. WBA have been paying Sinclair 30k a week and he's done **** all. Overall he's cost them over £3m and he's made 8 league apps. Over £10,000 for every minute spent on the pitch. No goals and no assists and has been subbed in every game he's started for a team that have been pretty awful this season. No, no a thousand times no. Rodwell is on 40k a week and would almost certainly go to a PL club.
and that's what Gregg **** should be looking at rather than B sides. Too many young players rotting at big clubs happy to pick up absurdly high wages for doing bugger all.
How on earth do people know what players earn ? it's all guess work and in all honesty makes them look a little silly. Wasn't it rumoured that Almunia was on £30k plus as Arsenal and Hall the same at QPR before they came here ? Sinclair was brilliant at Swansea and has clearly lost his way. If you are looking at players that fit the Pozzo model then he would fall right in. Rodwell just needs some game time and given an opportunity and that's why I said as a loan option. I'm amazed just how ****ty some people get just because someone has a different view than theirs.
The fact that you've already apologised in thread once about your reply being hostile, yet you continue the same style in each and every post. I would love to know where you pluck these figures from about players earnings
Chris Lepkowski. (https://twitter.com/chrislepkowski) Reputable midlands journo. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spo...news/special-feature-scott-sinclair---7091579
Do you honestly believe that reporters genuinely know how much players earn ? He has covered him self by saying "in my reckoning" very early on in his report. In other words he like everyone else is guessing. I really wouldn't believe anything you read in the paper or trawl on the internet.
By the way, it's all very well pointing out that Almunia and Hall earned £30K or whatever before they joined us, they're at the end of their careers. Sinclair is on a lot more than £30K, (WBA are only paying £30K of his wage) too. Google lists his 2013 salary as boiling down to c. £40K a week, media report it as around £40-£45K.
So media reports are true ? The bloke was fantastic at Swansea, being talked about as an England international, decided to follow the money and its all gone wrong. He needs to be playing football and thats not going to happen at City and possibly not going to happen in the premiership. So the natural next step down is the championship, where he isn't going to earn his alleged £30, 40, 45k a week. As an option as a player that would be available and could be very good in this league, then he is a realistic person to put on a forum hypothetical wish list
Do the loan club pay stuff like appearance bonuses? I thought about that but surely he wouldn't make such a basic error like that?
You're quite right, my personal opinion though is there's probably a step in-between where he is now, and us in terms of his regression before he can move forward again. Unfortunately that probably won't come until he's out of contract at Man City because no one else will pay a high % or any of what he's on.
You've almost answered your own questions in another post A lot of players receive a set salary and then Appearance money On the bench/Squad and not getting on the pitch Win bonus Goal bonus Points bonus Loyalty bonuses I think it was "The Secret Footballer" who wrote a very good article about players salaries and how they are heaped with bonuses rather than set salaries. He talked about how far off the media were in their reporting. If Manchester City accept an offer for Sinclaire or make him available for transfer then they are responsible for settling his current contract, or balancing his salary for the remaining period. If you remember this is exactly what happened with Robbie Fowler when he left Leeds, Robbie Keane when he left Liverpool to go back to Spurs and god knows how many Portsmouth players 99% of what you read about players salaries is pure guess work
We don't even need someone like Scott Sinclair. I think we'll go 4-3-3 and we would have Anya and Dyer for the LW role. Say the reports about Misidjan are true i think we'll have him and tommy smith for RW. Then all i think we need is a new keeper hopefully Kuszczak, a dominant center half also a right back and obviously Tozser on a permanent deal
