Yes I did and I thought it was disgusting, the bloke clearly has a problem with black people. It proves that he is a racist. I'm still not too sure about the celebrating though, he could have taken the moral high ground and walked off but he chose to prance about in front of Suarez.

If the FA don't want their reputation in tatters, then both Suarez and Dalglish should be absolutely crapped on as a reminder to all that being a racist, and condoning racism are not ok in the slightest.

But what would be an appropriate sentence for both?

Another suspension for Suarez, and a fine as well. As for Dalglish, a hefty fine and maybe a touchline ban.

There are some very gullible people around who fail to see that it's primarily the media that are prolonging this to sell column inches and attract viewers/listeners. Was Evra's comment to Suarez "Your Sister is a *****" really any better than what Suarez said ... NO. If a black guy calls me 'snowflake, whitey, paddy, mick (Irish Ancestry here) in the heat of the moment OF COURSE NOT I'm used to it as are the majority of Irish/Scots/Welsh.

There are far worse things happening ... get over it !!!

Maybe everyone here should look at the following link, then take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourselves "Have I EVER used any of these terms ?" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs

The irony of you calling people 'gullible' and in the same sentence repeating a lie about Evra abusing Suarez sister.

Might interest you to know that Suarez doesnt even have a sister....

I'm amazed in this day when everything gets over analysed no one spotted this, but Ferdinand refused Suarez's hand also. This has been totally overlooked.

It hasnt been overlooked at all, was discussed in depth on Sky yesterday

Ferdinand refused to shake Suarez's hand as a result of Suarez refusing to shake Evra's. Childish perhaps but if Suarez had shaken Evra's hand it would never have happened

ok, I thought that was odd. Didn't see Sky yesterday, but today it's all about Suarez and Evra, not Ferdinand. I think the ref should have the ability to bang the heads together of players that behave worse than an 8 year old, and tell them to stand in the corner.

Also, refusing to shake someone's hand is a sign of friendship and a compliment in Uruguay. Suarez's grandfather also has a pair of hands.

You miss the point totally. Abusing someone verbally (be it racist or whatever) is designed purely to wind them up and make them angry ... using such language does not make the person a racist it means they used that form of language (wrongly in my opinion) to generate a response or intimidate someone.

  15. El distraído

    El distraído Johnny Foreigner

Maybe it doesn't necessary make them a racist, but they used racist language nonetheless and should subsequently be crapped on and made an example of. Using racist language is not acceptable in any form. What don't you understand?

Yep.. and for doing this Suarez was rightly punished, a punishment he and his manager have yet to accept.

Suarez is a racist anyway, he said "I kicked you because you are black" and "I dont talk to blacks". Those are the words of a racist

Being totally neutral (I cant stand either Liverpool or Man United) - There was always going to a be problem with this fixture. Ok Suarez could have shaken Evra's
hand, but why should he - Suarez believes he is innocent and had just had a lengthy ban because of Evra, so at least in his eyes he was wronged. Put yourself in his shoes would you shake the hand of someone that you believe had caused you injustice?

Maybe the pre match handshaking should have been done away with in this instance.

What could also be done away with is Alex Ferguson's mind games saying Suarez should be banned from the English Game - he didn't say that Cantona should be
banned after he karate kicked a supporter did he? All that did was inflame the situation even more.

  19. IRB

Why does Suarez think hes innocent though? He admitted himself to calling Evra a negro, which means he knows full well that he broke the FA law of bringing race/sexuality/nationality into an argument on a football pitch

    Where is the perceived injustice?

Interesting that the apology still isnt addressed to Evra, for either the original incident or yesterday's actions

He apologises to the manager and the club for letting them down

This whole thing of shaking hands is a load of bollix all of which stems from the 'respect' campaign - but I wouldn't shake hands with someone I don't respect. Just scrap it and get on with the facking game. It is meant to be a man game at the end of the day yet everyone involved in this whole story are behaving like spoilt kids.

Suarez has acted like a ****.
    Dalglish has been an idiot.
    Evra didn't help things yesterday.

Actually, it appears they did consider exactly that:

'The United announcement came in a formal statement issued at noon. It said: "Manchester United have today suspended Eric Cantona from all first-team matches for the remainder of the 1994-95 season. In addition the player has been fined the maximum sum permitted under his contract.

"In reaching this decision, which the player fully accepts, Manchester United have had regard to its responsibilities to the club and to the game as a whole." The decision was taken after a three-hour meeting between directors and the manager, Alex Ferguson, on Thursday night.

They had considered a life ban on Cantona, whose on-field behaviour on other occasions had brought the club discredit. Edwards implied it was only Cantona's great ability, the success he had brought to Old Trafford and the money that had brought in, which saved him from the sack. "Since he came here we have had a glorious two years and we have borne that in mind when coming to our decision."

Can't believe the number of people still defending Suarez. It's truly sad.

Evra didn't help the situation at the end - as acknowledged by Ferguson, but you know what, doing a little dance in celebration at the end of a massive victory doesn't really compare.

Didn't know that. Well done Suarez on making yourself and Dalglish looking even more stupid now.

This was exactly my reaction when I saw that it had been released. Typical crap typed up by some randomer in LFC. Bet Suarez hasn't even seen it.

An apology is all well and good but it has been issued on the back of the reaction of yesterday from the media, people within the game, the PFA, and Liverpool supporters.

Dalglish did him self no favors at all yesterday, less than when he agreed to the players warming up in their Suarez T-shirts. But he did look genuinly shocked at being told that Suarez had refused to shale Evra's hand. He clearly understood that he would.

Lets hope that United and Evra accept the apology, whether its personal or not and we forget the whole saga sooner rather than later
