That is part of the problem...you two club really don't like each other and the managers don't get on either meaning the chance of a truce is zlich.

Ofcourse I am not surprised your club is defending its best player and main attacking threat (I mean you'd have the lump Carroll leading your line instead!)

Had Evra been abused by a Liverpool reserve player would any of this kicked off or said player just kicked out?

Agreed. How can Evra be the bad person here?! He WAS racially abused throughout the game back in October, he did incredibly well then to not smack the racist little goofy c**t in the side of the head! I would have, without question!! HE OFFERED to bury the hatchet with Suarez (fair play to him, because again, I wouldn't have) by shaking his hand and clearly the racist blanked him. Goes to show what a horrible little pr*ck he is.

Suarez had been found GUILTY! If there wasn't enough evidence, then he wouldn't have been suspended for 8 games. The FA had enough on him to dish out this punishment and yet he HASN'T apologised to Evra??? Shocking stuff.

I am certainly not Evra's biggest fan, nor am I Manchester United's in general, but he acted brilliantly today. He did nothing wrong at all. Ok, he may have over-celebrated at the end, but to be fair to him, it wasn't as if it was right in front of the away end, it was right down the other end of the pitch!!

In conclusion, Evra proved he was a real man by offering to shake his hand, Suarez proved what a little c**t he is by refusing!!

Funny interpretation of 'welcomed with open arms', as I remember Cantona was issued a 4 month ban by Manchester United before the FA even got involved.

Its not as if Ferguson wore a t-shirt with Cantona's face on it and tried to further some ridiculous story that kung fu kicking people is a sign of friendship in France...

Evra tackled Ferdinand so hard that Ferdinand had an erection! Look as Ferdinand walks off after landing on his head.

I was surprised Evra didn't go out and try and break Suarez in two, if I was in his position I would have sorted Suarez's teeth out. Have to applaud Evra for showing restraint throughout the match. It will be interesting to see the reaction if Terry is proven guilty and refuses to shake either Ferdinands hands...

He hardly 'welcomed him with open arms' though did he?

He independently issued the player with the appropriate punishment and then accepted the verdict of the FA to extend the ban, at no point did he question the FA, criticise their decision, attempt to condone Cantona's behaviour or belittle the victim.

'King' Kenny's behaviour during this entire episode has been deplorable and he could learn a lot from the way Ferguson handled the Cantona episode.

It will be more interesting to see if ferdinand shakes Terrys hand if he's found not guilty. obviously he thinks he is otherwise he could have stopped the whole affair from ever reaching court.

Didn't someone make a complaint on Ferdinands behalf? If that is the case Ferdinand has no chance in stopping it going to court as he can't retract his case.

Evra reported the Suarez racism to the referee so it went through the FA

A fan reported Terry's racism directly to the police so it has become a criminal case, Ferdinand could not have 'stopped it reaching court' by any stretch of the imagination

Dalglish can defend the racist in public and pretend he's doing nothing wrong but he must know how despicably he's acted throughout this. The fact that Liverpool's players have barely attempted to back Suarez in public or on the pitch since they were forced to wear those t-shirts tells it's own story.

Dalglish needs to stop digging because he's just becoming more and more of a joke whilst Liverpool are being irrevocably damaged as a club. Dalglish and Liverpool are to blame for the continuing spates of racism that have surrounded Liverpool by essentially condoning it and painting Suarez as the victim and Evra as the perpetrator; they really should be ashamed of themselves. When even Alan Hansen is alluding to him being in the wrong on MOTD you know it's bad.

Kenny Dalglish is an utter idiot for his response to the questions about the handshake.

I can understand why Dalglish is supporting Suarez as he is his manager and as such he feels he needs to support his player. If he was found innocent and Dalglish alienated him where would that leave Suarez and Dalglish?

Also regarding the handshake, that wouldn't have happened if the FA would have sorted this out nearer the the time of the incident. Did Suarez and Evra ever meet to discuss the incident in a controlled area?

Suarez and Liverpool believe, rightly or wrongly, that he is innocent. Whilst I do not concur completely I believe that that as English is not his first language and he comes from a different culture this should have been taken into account more than it was.

Evra, has been throughout this (By Manure and Sir A) depicted as an innocent who has been wronged, this is IMO a long way away from the truth and Evra has done as much as Suarez to damage the situation.

John Barnes has come through with an interview on ESPN which makes complete sense to me:

I can't understand it at all. Lost any respect I once had for Dalglish. There's supporting your player when he goes into a 50/50 challenge and comes out looking like the bad guy, and then there's supporting your player when he is in the midst of a storm surrounding racism, and then makes it 10x worse by refusing a handshake that the victim offered in peace, so that the world could watch and this whole charade could be over.

I am very surprised, and angry at Dalglish.

Disagree. He played in the Netherlands for a number of years, he knows perfectly well what is and is not socially acceptable in Europe. Maybe he said it in the heat of the moment, but the punishment was a very fair one. Racism is wrong. Even if the person saying it does not mean it, these adults are unfortunately role models for the children in this country. When they misbehave, they must feel the full force of punishment. Anything less and children may think it's ok to be racist, when it is not.

Anyone see him wipe his shoulder after Valencia tapped him on it after he kicked the ball into the dugout area at end of 1st half. Blokes a disgrace and has completely taken the mick out of Dalglish and LFC after the support they gave him. Well done to Evra for celebrating right infront of him, cant blame him at all.

I hadn't seen the post match interview from Dalglish and now that I have seen it, I agree he should not support him after the incident prior to the match. Dalglish acted like a petulant prat. Before the game I could see why Dalglish had supported his player, Dalglish holds a personal relationship with every one of his players and as such will support them through thick and thin. He has however done it in a poor way that has made Dalglish come across as a complete and utter twunt.

This case has been highlighted as a showcase for anti racism by the FA in hope to eradicate it from the game, but it has been conducted so poorly it makes a mockery of the game.
