We need to be working very hard in training at improving the quality of our balls into the box. He seems the sort that will finish chances if the delivery between the six yard box and penalty spot is reasonable as thus far he’s managed to get into good positions there. But it’s a big IF as our crossing has been crap for the last 3 seasons.

Not sure I see any humour in a Russell Brand reference, in the midst of current stuff, whatever transpires...

Agree with @Since63 the delivery into the box needs to be better because it does look like he is decent around the 6 yard box but nothing else.

It was his poor touch and pass that gave Birmingham an opportunity in the first minute. This has to improve and with intensive training I hope it does.

I will give him time to get up to speed of the league but as a team we need to play to his strengths which is decent delivery into the box.

Which is a worry as that is something we have been unable to do for a long time. Our corner kicks are awful for the most part. Hopefully we can work on this, or get @reids in at LC to teach the players' how set pieces work. He is a target man, but less of a player to run at a defence and take them on. Which is probably why a lot of us have been suggesting he plays in a two (with the invisible other striker) as somebody to play off.

Sadly there's a much higher chance of me working for pretty much anyone else in the league than there is WFC. But you're right, our set-pieces haven't been great this season so far!

Set pieces have been poorly delivered and doesn’t really seem to much planning involved . We generally have 3 CBs on the pitch and a target man so should be making more chances .

Forget Luther.... go with Ross Jenkins.

Sometimes he looks like he is someone who won a competition to play up top in the first team, and celebrates like one too.... but he seems to have that untrainable knack of being in the right place and put the ball in the back of the net,

Raise one or both hands in the air, stick the ball into the mixer where the two centre backs and Sierralta are marked and pretty static. Rinse and repeat.

Miss the days of Javi's team playing two backward passes to then spring Femenia in behind or creating the space for a first time volley on the edge of the box...

Ross Jenkins was so, so much more than that. His movement for a supposed ‘beanpole’ centre forward was exceptional and continually pulled defenders out of position to benefit Blissett and others.

I don't agree that our delivery into the box has been awful for the last few seasons in my opinion it is more a case of us not having natural goalscorers to get on the end of a cross .
Rajovic goal last Saturday wasnt a 2 foot tap in as he still had a lot to do to score .
A previous post mentioned Ross Jenkins and his ability to pull CHs about . And this only works if their
are others in the team who are good in the air\can score for example Luther as stated .
So if Rajovic dragged his marker out wide and a cross came in nothing would happen because we don't have any other players who are good in the box
I am certain that overlap cross and finish is practised relentlessly at LC.
The cross is the easy part . It is the finish that is the money shot

So looking at the poll, the distribution looks fairly normal. Could all change if he gets a brace tonight.

This is why it baffles me that almost no teams try playing with twin strikers. For instance I think we were crying out for it last season, but never tried it. If you get a pair who work well together it’s so valuable. It just doesn’t seem to be in fashion now, which is a pity.

Though TBF when he first arrived he really didn’t look like he had a future in the game let alone to go on and become the fantastic all round CF he did. Would love to think Raj could develop into that sort of quality but the odds are against him.

Hard enough to find one good striker let alone a set of twins.

And players don’t get 2/3 seasons to settle in either .

In one of the recent fanzines there was an official letter sent out to other clubs putting Jenkins up for sale !

20 years ago, in 2003-04, Watford finished 16th in the Championship. That season we had Heidar Helguson and Danny Webber as the main strikers with Hameur Bouazza and Scott Fitzgerald as backups. This season we have Rajovic, Bayo and Healy. Oh dear.....

TBF...even though they're 20 years older, I'd still have Helguson, Webber, Bouazza and Scott Fitzgerald over what we have now.

I’d agree with that although Fitzgerald might be pushing a bit far .

More than 50 of our fans think he will score over 10 goals.

    Let that sink in.

The worst striker in the history of our great club, and over 75% of you people think he'll score double figures.

Of course you've all hopped on the bandwagon and recognised he's dog droppings by now, but all those weeks ago the vast majority of you people thought he'd be banging them in regularly.

Are you all burning with shame?

Will you accept that your knowledge of football, your ability to pick a player, is utterly inept?

Just one solitary person recognised his complete lack of football ability.

Just one single person recognised just how appalling this terd is.

    Just 1.5% of our fanbase.

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions as to who that person is.

It's really, really hard sharing a forum with you people. It's like Einstein living amongst cavemen.

    I know the feeling.

In fact, if Einstein really did live in cavemen times, he’d be considered crazy. Let that think in.
