Another goal today, so 3 in his 2 starts. Has the uncanny and useful knack of being in the right place at the right time.

The class of this league is clearly way above anything he has played in before and there are often moments when he looks completely like a fish out of water. His first touch needs work and he needs to get himself more involved in the build up if he is to become truly great.

However, you cannot criticise him in the box, he looks lethal and he has that composure that you just need if you are to be a great goal scorer.

I reckon he gets 14 goals this season but becomes a better player as the season develops.

Luther wasn't technically the best but he knew where the back of the net was .
Rajovic is similar in that way .
If he stays injury free 18-20

I thought about the comparison to Luther but he definitely has a higher strike rate that LB. Luther is obviously a legend, but I think it was the sheer volume of shots that he took that led to his goal tally.

11 to 15 goals would be a fantastic return for a first full season. It took Deeney a while to score twenty a season and then he did it almost consistently. His touch does need work your correct, but hopefully that will come to him over time. He's proven he can score with his head and feet which is always a plus. If we continue the formation of a single striker then on the evidence we have now he has to be first on the team sheet along with Bachmann.

Bayo/Healy could form a partnership but that could be a while off.

And the fact he often got into those positions by running through brick walls of scything ‘tackles’.

I think he'll go through a dry spell and it'll be interesting to see how he copes with a potential drop in confidence. He's riding a wave right now.

Can see him getting 10-12 goals if he plays fairly regularly, which would be a very decent return

It helps when we put crosses in the box for him - one decent cross today and he opened the scoring from it.

I don’t think he is particularly good, and up to the extra time header was thinking; if he is the answer, then the question must be, League 1. Having said that he is paid to score goals, and more importantly he has scored in a match that gained an away point, and today his goal got us another three. From that perspective it is a lot more positive than it looked up to extra time today.

So if he scores goals in say 15 different matches over the season, then I think he has earned his spurs in this league. Mind you I once cooked two excellent Curries on successive weekends. The third, fourth and fifth took many, many months to materialise. So lets not count our chicken Saagwala’s just yet.

Having watched many a Watford forward in the second division. He certainly is no Luther. He might be a Malcolm Poskett. Or an Alan Smart. If he becomes the next Danny Graham. We will have done very well. And will probably sell him in for a profit.

Lets face it if he was the real deal, we wouldn't have bought him for what we paid! he would probably have gone elsewhere! therefore if he is hopeless at everything but scores goals then he will do for me, at least he can be coached to do the other things better.

We have had plenty of footballers who have been better at the other aspects but when it comes to scoring they haven't managed it, you would have to go a long way back to find a forward who has scored three goals in his first two full appearances, Marc Falco scored a debut hat trick back in 1986. Stipe Perica (remember him) scored his solidary goal on his debut in 2020, there are others scorers on their debut but can anyone else come up with 3 in their first 2 full games? there must be someone?

    Great questions @Teide1

Ok so...I’m sure we must have had somebody do so since then but the last new signing that comes to mind that scored in his first two FULL appearances for us was Cleverley way back in 2009. I will keep looking, as it’s a rainy day here!

We’ve had many many debutant scorers in the Pozzo era including two in their first match as our owners, but so often at the start of seasons we then tend to draw a blank in our second match of the season. It happened to Dennis, Vydra, Abdi and others..a debut goal followed by the entire team failing to score the next match.

Re debut scorers, our last on his full debut was Porteous I think. Ademeyo did too last season.

Indeed. All my stats today were about league matches, as that’s what Rajovic has achieved.

Plus we rarely evidence in cup matches anyway ;)

Started off really well in Sweden but then was on a 12 game drought before joining us. Might be a streaky striker...

He doesn't seem to have lacked confidence for us considering he hadn't scored for months before he came here. Be interesting if he lasts the course, the benefit of coming from a league with a different calendar is that he arrives match-fit, the downside, like we saw with Richarlison, is that he might blow later on in the season

The nice thing so far is his goals are winning us points.

Much better than scoring each time in a 1-2 defeat.

So if and when he has the inevitable quiet spell, at least we can look back knowing his goals have earned us something.

Yeah the only problem is when the inevitable dry patch happens you have to ask what he else he brings to the game .

However he’s only played 2.5 games so lots of room for him to improve his all round play a he adjusts to rise in quality

However I voted 16-20 as it looks he could get a goal every two games here on in .
