Lorenzo Insigne at Napoli has apparently said he wants to move on from Napoli.. I'm not even sure this is true and of course highly unlikely but who knows eh. It seems today has been a bit of a watershed day in the window a few long running transfer sagas coming to an end and serious money really starting to move around now, definitely looks like clubs are picking up the pace to get deals done now.
Forest have a young lad at right back, looks very good. Olly Burke I think. Would probably get him for 5 mil, be worth double that come the end of the season. Just saying like.
I'd also pip Bristol City to Rico Henry from Walsall. Get him on loan to a Championship club and his value should grow after a season. I'd like to see a bit of activity from Luke Dowling.
I would be happy with any creative attacking midfielder better than Abdi ,who has had a pre season , is fit and can play on saturday against the saints !
I thought we'd see more of this during the summer, signing talent and loaning them out. However this kid has looked very average when I've seen him despite all the hype. Probably why he's only signing for Bristol City.
Take it with a pinch of salt, i've heard we are looking/have been looking at Bernard Mensah (no not that one) from A. Madrid, spent last season with Getafe
Assuming/hoping that we sign Pereyra, Kenedy and Kaboul, will we still be looking for a more defensive midfielder? I think it's clear that we were interested in Mario Lemina (and still are) but do you think that our alleged interest in deeper midfielders in general (per WD Sport in literally every article) is genuine, or more a case of "If the right target is available in this position, we'll go for it?" Do people feel that the departure of Mario Suarez increases the likelihood of pursuing a defensive midfielder? And who would people like to see brought it, aside from Mario Lemina?
Even with the departure of Suarez I'd imagine that we're already well stocked in that position and he has left primarily to free fees/wages for better (suited) players. Going by the formula of two players required per position, then we are adequately supplied with Capoue, Behrami, Watson and Doucoure, and Guedioura has the solidity to play a deeper role, although his attacking has adapted better to the Premier League than his defensive play (and there's still room for improvement in the former).
This is probably a ridiculous suggestion and will never happen due to wages, but if we're looking for a Box-to-Box midfielder then I wonder if we could land Fabian Delph, even on loan. I think the signings show that were serious about staying in the Prem and the long term plan is to be a team that pushes for Europe every year. I wonder if City would subsidise part of his wages if he were to leave like they did Adebayor when he joined Spurs. They probably need him though cause he's HG, but still, I wouldn't mind Delph here.
No thanks. Paying over the odds for an up and coming homegrown player is one thing but paying stupid money for a player like Delph is another. The TV money is finite and I wouldn't want an average player here earning multiple times of the others, I think this was half the problem with Adabayor at Palace last season.
If Danny Ings can stay injury free he would be a great signing. Stoke are chasing Phil Jnes again. His about the only player linked with Stoke but not us all summer. I'd take him on loan. Can play 2 or 3 positions
He would. Expensive though. The scousers only ended up paying about £8M for him I think (via the tribunal) but they'd want at least double I suspect.
I still think we should try and get Jay Rodriguez. Also Hull are in for Ryan Mason at Spurs, now granted he is not the best player in the world but I think he could definitely do a great job for us. The boy doesn't stop running. Just the type of energy we need in the middle of the park and if we are looking at a box-to-box midfielder, then I think Ryan Mason would be a tidy piece of business.
