Weak excuse & we all know it. Forget the anti police attitude & face facts Police have no interest in looking after middle class people going about there daily lives. Wolves has always been a disaster zone for clubs & can verify that from a non Watford prospective. It's a joke & I said as much on Friday to my lad who went.

It isn't personal, I barely remember any discussions with you. It is your attack on the police I don't like.

I mean that they get a heavy prison sentence, not "mitigating" circumstances and out in 3 years with a tag etc.

So did you actually witness what happened and who did it? Hopefully then the ****(s) who did it will already be in custody.

It would be a real shame if this thread degenerates into a petty pro/anti police argument.

judges these days take a very dim view of football related violence, I would expect a very heavy punishment to whoever did this if convicted.

Thing is, many of us can name times we've had problems at Wolves. Be it separated incidents like the odd guy getting a punch in the face (A few seasons back when we scored a late winner against you), or the official club coaches getting pelted by stones, or our own individual experiences (I had one unpleasant experience a handful of seasons back which led to treatment in an ambulance, in which I then wrote to your club about what happened and got an absolutely **** response back - Your club does f**k all about it - especially if the local police are to be believed in that the club controls how many police they want around the ground etc (Was mentioned in an earlier post).

Glad you went to the police about what you saw, and I hope it aids them in there investigation, however I'm unsure what exactly you wished to achieve from putting your account on here? Ultimately your club needs to pull its finger out and open its eyes as there are many clubs who have reported issues up there but yet nothing is done about it.

Fair play to the lads who set up that fund raising page, I know are Wolves fans who are genuine football fans, but you certainly have a lot more morons than other clubs.

I see what Wolfie is saying. The gormless little ***** in the Fila trainers you see at every Watford away game no doubt contributed. We have these strange mongy kids in our fan base who try to act out Green Street when they live in one of the richest counties in the country, but when push comes to shove they back out like scared kids and leave the adults to sort their **** out.

How can wolves shirk on paying a policing bill when they're happy to pay £20k a week to some players. Need to get a grip on reality.

Pretty sure that was the guy who tried to get on the pitch at Bournemouth. That was an atmosphere that came close to overflowing into what happened here. Both during and after the game.

Maybe these poxy little ***** from both sides will understand that the **** they do has caused a seemingly innocent supporter to be attacked and nearly killed.

I suspect they won't give a **** and will happily carry on this nonsense that actually drives real fans away.

The gofundme thing is coming along well, just donated.

I notice Luton fans have also donated, as has one of our youth players, Jorrell Johnson

Not followed the entire thread, but this guy is right. I'm not criticising the police in any way, they have minimal resources and simply cannot be everywhere, but after Brentford and the chaos at the station, I would have expected there to have been some presence on the route to the station. When we arrived into Wolves, the station was manned by police and the main pub (Prince Albert) had police there too. As we walked to the stadium, there was several officers on foot. Just seemed strange that other than our local Bobbie (Smithers), who does a fine and fair job it must be said, there was no other presence after the game. I walked straight past the incident, I missed it by seconds - I just hope the police catch those responsible. Scum.

Hi, I want to donate but before i do, is there a way of making sure that this money will definitely go to this man? Im sure it is legit but is it possible for someone with no morals to use a site like this and gain money through preying on people who wish to raise money for a man in a critical condition?

Sorry if that sounds really cynical I just wouldnt want to donate and encourage others to donate (by sharing through twitter, facebook etc) and then find out it was a scam.

whats more, if wolfie is being honest here, they will be the ones who could give descriptions. They need to call 101 and perhaps admit they were part of minor disorder. Any info could help, a description could help quickly identify someone off cctv.

I had the same worries but after the amount of exposure it has gotten it would seem likely that it will go to this guy. Jake Humphrey's and Chris Stark have also donated and the Wolves fan who set it up seems quite well known.

£5,630 raised in five hours, haven't had goosebumps like that since the Leicester game.

Hopefully Nick makes a full and speedy recovery and can take his family to the football for a few years with the funds.

I'm from a policing and criminology background, and my professional opinion is that you're talking bullsh*t.

I would love to see you elaborate more on your opinions. Are you saying that only unqualified people commit serious violent crime? Are you saying that society is continuing to breed "angry, young men" against a backdrop of contemporary socio-economic issues? What was your view when the 'skinheads' or the 'mods' and 'rockers' saturated media headlines? Presumably, you had similar views. The fact is, you make your own way in this world. There's opportunities out there, opportunities for everyone. A society that forms sub-cultures is nothing new, and is not an excuse for violence.

As I mentioned in the original post we saw the start of it then became aware that it could get quite serious as more people became involved, it was only when the group dispersed in various directions that we saw the guy on the floor. We were probably about 20m away as the ring road runs parallel to the street where this happened. The only reason we got a closer look at Watford fans (if you can call anyone involved fans!) was because they ran towards the ring road right in front of us. In fact they would probably have some vital information that could help identify the culprits of this attack if they have the decency to contact the police!

What I will say is that the whole route from the stadium all the way past the coach park and up to the station is covered by CCTV so whoever did this and everyone involved with this will be identified I am sure.

Whilst I appreciate that this is an issue you (and others) have strong views about, can we leave political and social arguments out of a thread made about a Watford fan who was seriously harmed?

There are plenty of places to discuss the standard of policing and issues in society; for me, this thread shouldn't be one of them!

My childminders husband, Andy, good friends with Nick, was with him when it happened and he too suffered a severe beating. Andy is an absolute gentlemen and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy and his friends. The sad part is, due to work commitments, he does not get to go to many games and therefore goes whenever he can. The wolves game was one such opportunity for him to get a rare chance to go and enjoy a game of football, cheer on the team he's supported all his life and all in the company of his closest friends. Having spoke to his wife, he's still very shook up and by the sounds of it, having trouble sleeping and has already taken the week off work. This is something that goes beyond football to the point it's effecting his everyday life and will do for some time and all the while his best mates in hospital in a coma. I think it will be a long time before any of them feel safe to go to a football match again and I for one think that's very sad. As I said before, couldn't have happened to a nicer fella.

I agree, I hope we get rid of these odious charlatons out of our club. They arent Watford fans in my eyes they are chancers using support for Watford as an excuse to act their faux machoism.

I am amazed that there are acres of column inches and TV coverage on the Villa pitch invasion but nothing on this serious incident.

Even the local BBC Midlands TV news is interviewing someone with a cut head from the Villa game but mention nothing with no appeal for witnesses to this much more serious life threatening incident.

This isn't actually that rare in the scheme of things. People end up with serious injuries from unprovoked attacks up and down the country in town centres on every Saturday night. The Villa thing though plays right into the football hooligan theme - fans on the pitch, seats being ripped out and thrown etc.

  32. Mainly because the sort of ******s who see themselves as football top boys are the same sort of people who think that getting lairy on a Friday night & having a fight are good entertainment.

I truly wish Nick (and anyone else attacked at Wolves) a very speedy recovery. But I also wonder how many of those 'spitting feathers' on here - demanding attempted murder charges/lengthy periods of incarceration etc for the perpetrators - spend every/every other Saturday clapping like the proverbial seal a certain Troy 'student head stamper' Deeney?

Would the same people get as 'righteously indignant' if those responsible on Saturday got treated as leniently as their footballing hero by the courts?

Strange old things these Social Media sites .... such superb platforms for highlighting the pomposity & hypocrisy of those whose musings amount to nowt.

Good luck to Nick and his family. Sad state of affairs when something like this happens just because somebody supports a football club but thankfully it is a very rare occurrence.

Troy Deeney was caught and punished, showed remorse and has turned his life around.

Maybe the perpetrator of this unprovoked attack will do the same.

Let's just find the f****r first.
