Agreed. Woody Harrelson could certainly do a job. Though his predecessor in Cheers was a better Coach.

 

It’s almost certainly going to be Martinez unless we have another serious brain fart, which tbf wouldn’t shock me.

I hope it is not some dinosaur of a Manager. That will just top off the dreadful season we have had in the Premier league.
I can't believe Gino and his Dad would make yet another mistake. Forget Duxbury, who knows Jack s**t about football.
We have to go with someone who wants to grow with us, be given a chance to have time to coach and has a plan A, B and C.
Martinez is my choice. He has been in the UK a while. Visiting grounds/training areas and taking in games. Would he come to us? Time will tell

 

I've been told by 3 very well connected that Martinez is VERY high on the clubs list - No.1 without doubt.

When I had my interview with the club a few months back — they were very big on Spanish coaches and their approach/adaptability to English football. Said with the style of the club that’s what they’d go for

I’m just going to pass on what I know from convos I’ve had with a certain someone who works for the club. We’ve held interviews with Martinez and Cannavaro in the past, both still on the list to this day — but there is an outside chance of a name I’ve not heard of at all, and that’s Luis Zubeldia. Jon Dahl Tomasson’s agent has been putting his name about but likely to end up in the Netherlands. British manager is unlikely due to the style of coaching that the Pozzo’s don’t like

 

It's not McKenna from anything I've heard...

 

Lou hasn't 'heard' its McKenna - I shared the name with him earlier to see if he had heard anything and he hadn't. I'm assuming he's just saying thats who you have heard.

 

The club always go for out of work managers. McKenna is on a long contract at Ipswich, surely we wouldn't pay for him when other managers we've shown interest in are still out of work?

 

What’s Zubeldia like? Seems to have managed a lot of games for someone just 41.

Would be very weird appointment. Had never heard of him until five minutes ago but only has four months in senior management (granted that's about the same as Xisco) and another three years left on his contract so we'd have to stump up some compensation. Can't see it happening.

 

McKenna was rated highly at Utd and seems to have done a fair job at Ipswich. Would be a major gamble for me.
