Does QSF know mourinho though? I've never seen it mentioned. Brendan Rogers knows him though.

I think we should buy him in the summer. I'm sure the money would come in handy for Chelsea's promotion push next season.

After watching that again on the highlights, he was so lucky to still have a career, his landing today was horrific.

So glad he got up alright, if he had come down in that fashion from slightly higher he might not have walked away from that. Was excellent again today, has a great work ethic as well as huge ability.
Doubt Chelsea will sell him but worth a go.

They've bought very expensive young players in all the positions he plays. Couple that with the fact that they are generally ignorant to the talents of their own young players, and I don't think it would take that much to get him out of there.

Depends if he makes it clear he wants to leave.

Shame we can't play him AGAINST Chelski. We'll have to play someone else at LB.

Chelsea have sold De Bruyne, Lukaku, Salah, Schurrle and Bertrand - all young players they deemed to not be good enough or to be too much work to develop and mould into the finished product.

Of course they'll be stupid enough to sell us Ake if we offer them a bit of money.

They currently have Baba Rahman at left-back, who is only 20 and cost them £18million quid - they'll try and get the most out of him ahead of giving a place to Ake.

If the sell Ake to us I will party like it's 1999

  13. Id like to see us try and buy Ake and Chalobah

If anyone can put Chalobah back together it's QSF

    Why?

Chelsea are a club that have always been built on short-termism. It's how they won the Champions League. They're in the s**t now so will eventually sack Mourinho and buy a load of new players to get themselves back at the top. No way are they going to waste time and effort blooding in a load of rough diamond youngsters and risk falling even further behind than they already are.

Just saw the footage of his fall yesterday, it's bloody amazing that he is still around to possibly buy from Chelsea, how he didn't break his neck I'll never know!

Chalabah is so yesterday. Chelsea ruined him - great example why as a young kid better off outside of the big clubs. unfortunately i have no interest in having him back now. Ake yes

I agree, I would love Chalobah back, he would suit our style now more than when he played here before I think..
Being one of two holding midfielders would enable him to not have to burden the sole holding responsibility which he had previously (and did amazingly considering he was only 17)

If we could get Ake and Chalobah it would be a major coup.

Anyone know how he's getting on at Napoli?

Made his first start last week in a Europa League game against Club Brugge. Steady game, made no chances but did nothing wrong. They won 1-0 and it was an absolute dead rubber game with players rested left right and centre. No one watched it either, as it was behind closed doors...

20 years old, and has been loaned out to SIX different clubs starting with Watford three years ago. Watford, Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading, Napoli. Still hasn't played a single minute for Chelsea. Can't help but feel all the trite stuff about these short-term loans all over the place stifling his growth are pretty accurate.

At least he's at Napoli now though. If he went to another Championship team it'd be a joke gone too far.

Tbf he's never been good enough to start for Chelsea (until this season anyway) and they loaned him out instead of letting him rot in their U-21's. If he hasn't made the grade it's really down to him although having all that money can't have helped.

    There still time though.

  24. Ake is the new Angela.

Good quality player about whom hyperbole is generously spread, but the reality is, at this moment, he is just a good quality player but very replaceable, as we will be saying on the forum when we see his replacement next season.

I can't remember where it was said or by whom but, for the most part, Chelsea appear to use the loan system as a way of balancing the books to comply with FFP.

They have over 30 players currently loaned out across Europe and I'd guess more than most will command a loan fee and payment towards wages.

I don't know how FFP works now but the article I read ages ago stated the monies coming in via loans went towards balancing the accounts. Not in a huge, wipe out the deficit kind of way but it's a steady stream of income.

Take Chalobah for instance. Instead of him having one good loan with us and then selling him off, Chelsea have had a further 5 loan fees plus a percentage (if not all) of his (now very high) wages paid.

Player development doesn't really seem to be the priority with young players at the bigger clubs. Instead, they're commodities.

Sky Sports News were at Manchester City this morning and quoted Joe Hart telling thier youngsters if they're not world class they can't realistically expect to get into the first team.

But they're good players who teams through the divisions will pay for having them on loan.

Look at Victor Moses of Chelsea. If ever there was a modern day cash cow he is it. He's barely played for CFC but I bet he commands a hefty loan fee season after season of his long term contract which will probably surpass any one off fee were he to be sold. He's not quite good enough to be around their squad but he's doing his bit for paying for those that are. (Though the irony that WHU are doing better than CFC at the moment won't be lost on anyone!)

    The wonderful thing about Ake's
    Is Ake's are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
    They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
    Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Ake's is
He's the only one He's gonna murder ya!

He's still only 20 and has proved himself as very comfortable at this level and will only get better.

This. Nobody is suggesting Ake is astonishingly special, just that he is very good for his age with lots of time to improve. For a new Premier League team looking to plan for a long future at this level, he's the exact kind of signing we need to make. He is replaceable right now, but that isn't the question anybody is asking.

Honestly believe that, if Ake were to stay with us for two or three seasons, he could become one of the best defenders in the league.

Genuine shame that he'll more than likely be wasted by Chelsea.

Azpillecuta plays there even though he is naturally a right back so Ake is 3rd choice at the moment..

De Bruyne, Salah, Lukaku, Cuardado.. what players Chelsea have let go in recent years!

Who will play instead of Ake for the Chelsea game? We obviously don't have a better left back, unless Machiavelli is involved (but I don't think he was a left back).
