I think the reason you didn’t know whether Gino had splashed out on a hat or not is probably because he doesn’t feel the need to run his wardrobe purchases by complete strangers .
Shame - well I hope we are in for another CB …. It will be the same old mistakes, nothing learnt and I think we will go down because of it - you can’t upgrade other areas of the pitch and ignore the defence time and time again
Damn, I was getting excited about completing our squad. We definitely still need a CB and I think it’s very short-sighted not to get one as at-least 3rd choice ahead of Kabasele and Cathcart. The rumoured figures for this guy didn’t sound like the sort of money we’d be paying though so this isn’t a huge shock. I just hope a cheaper option, like that Pablo Ortiz, is brought in as a low-risk punt and they happen to come good! Just give me some hope Watford, please!
Yes seemed too expensive for a CD addition. Wonder if, given the defensive stats last year, plus confidence in Kaba and Cathcart, whether they will decide 4 good CDs is enough, and just need a better 5th choice than Pollock. Think the RB position is up for grabs though. Not sure they have faith in Fem & Ngakia and surely can't be planning to play Cathcart at RB all season ?

His explanation of the process was interesting too I thought. He said he's spoken to 3 different people who 'would definitely know' if we had bid for this guy and all independently denied we had. And it had been made clear to him that a CB was not a priority for the club. He did accept there was at least a chance, albeit unlikely, they could be not telling the truth.
I don’t doubt he has sources. But let’s not forget he said we were trying to buy a defensive midfielder and that midfielder was someone who was looking for ‘another crack at the PL’. And we have signed a Turkish bloke who has never played in England and isn’t described as a defensive midfielder. And on the podcast, Leventhal has suddenly revealed said Turkish midfielder was at the top of this mythical ‘list’ he always talks about despite him not fitting the criteria he himself laid out above! So again, I don’t doubt Leventhal has sources - but he contradicts himself on a regular basis too. We could well have Lyanco in the door within the week and Leventhal will twist something around what he’s said today.

I'd say inc cover we are stronger at CB than at RB and at midfield if Hughes & Chalo both leave. But it's just our opinions.

Get rid of the Albino, Gray & Success + loan out Ngakia to the championship for the season (been saying that all summer). Keep Chalobah. bring in Lyanco or a CB of that quality & a right-back (Larsen?) Window complete.
Torino are interested in Becao the Udinese CB. So the news from Italy is saying that a possible swap is on the cards with him then being moved over here.
Sorry, there’s not one. Was my mistake. I genuinely got so over-excited with a CB link AND Tufan becoming a genuine opportunity that I clearly imagined Romano had tweeted about our interest/bid.
Adding a little more it seems like Betis have signed Pezzella so that's one club out of the running. Udinese and Bologna are the two showing interest but looks like Udinese are leading the race due to Torino wanting Becao. Could definitely still be something in this with Success looking like he's heading to Udi now.
