What a night that was. Turned up to that expecting to get thumped and against all the odds Mr Doyley decided a diving header into the back of the net in front of the sky cameras would cheer everyone up. He was so right!!! Will never forget that moment. Still get goosebumps when I watch it back. Didn't even notice it was Doyley until the people next to me said. 'We've got Lloydinho'!
Speaking of Lloyd they've had to re-arrange his first testimonial event as it didn't sell enough tickets...
Steve it was some sort of game show but you wouldn't have been allowed in - you're far too old for nightclubs
Never heard owt about it do perhaps it was ignorance rather than lack of interest which left tickets unsold
I can't even begin to describe how wide* a grin I get whenever I see this video or anything similar. Fantastic. *Cue Jimmy Saville jokes.
Hit some YouTube problems so no more videos for the forseeable future and I had to abandon quite a few video plans
Was it really 3 years ago? Flipping heck! My life is running through my fingers. Before you know it, Lloyd will have scored a hat trick and I'll be 80.

Totally mental celebration from the whole ground...brilliant! If someone could bottle up and sell the emotion we experienced that night they'd be very rich!
Arise, Sir Lloyd Doyley What a legend Doyley is turning out to be. Critics have bashed him, slagged him off, put him down, and written him off......but he keeps coming back fighting. His latest comeback into the starting 11 is excellent. The man's a fighter for his club, and this has to be recognised again this season amongst all the other positives that are going on. If I didn't think he'd lose the key to the town, I'd give it to him. :sign15::sign15: DOYLEY :sign15::sign15:
He wouldn't lose it - he'd keep it in his pocket, alongside all the strikers and wingers who underestimated him.
I really thought that this would be the season that he would really struggle to get back in the team, what with all the talented additions we've had and he's proved everyone wrong. Again. He seems to really suit the RCB role as he doesn't have to get forward too much and defensively, he's completely solid. Was a bit worried about him with our new passing game and while I do turn away in fear a little bit when he's in possession, on the whole he seems calm and composed on the ball and seems to suit (another) system well. Also is a decent option at RWB if Cassetti is injured or suspended. Anya can play if we are counter-attacking and Doyley can fill in if we're playing a more defensive game, in which he'll sit back. Well done for proving everyone wrong again, Lloyd :sign15:
He does what he does well. He looks awkward when he does it, which makes people under-rate him, but in reality, the end product is all which is required.
I think it says a lot for his attitude that Doyley keeps bouncing back from being dropped by managers and clearly doing more than enough to impressive them and become a fixture in the side...
It goes to show how lucky we are to have a player like him as Cassetti limped off yesterday and he will easily be able to move over to cover that position without a problem and allow Hall to come in alongside Nos and Ekstrand. Not a bad back 3 then!!
