It isn’t going to help the tories either. I imagine it'll be hard to sell the idea of an upwardly mobile property owning society to a generation that can't afford to buy anywhere
The possibility looms that Johnson could face a recall and by-election. This could happen if he receives a suspension of 10 days from the Commons Privileges Committee for misleading the House. There will probably be fudge on offer to prevent this, but it would be a great way for those Tories who fear his return to see him off. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...if-inquiry-finds-he-misled-mps-over-partygate
Truss's new guru is Patrick Minford. Patrick Minford. Let that sink in. His latest advice - cut tax and raise interest rates to 7% to control inflation. And scrap all work and H&S regulations and compensate people when they get injured.
On the list of things he'll be again within the next year, "being PM again" is at the bottom of it. Certainly well below "being divorced again" and "being a father from another woman again".
Wasn't he the clown who predicted a no-deal Brexit would bump the economy by over a 100 billion or something like that?
He said that brexit would bring a £135bn boost to the economy but that it would be necessary to run down manufacturing and agriculture like the coal mines.
Our economy is already 80% services based, just how much more running down of manufacturing can there be?
More crazy meddling with the justice system from the Tories https://www.theguardian.com/society...-changes-present-a-clear-danger-to-the-public As always, the fear of a few negative and ill-informed headlines in their stable of friendly newspapers leads them to making wholesale changes to a system which already fundamentally works as intended.
The more I see and hear from Truss and Sunak, the more obvious it becomes that ditching Kemi was a huge b0ll0ck dropped
She seems a genuinely horrible person, a dishonest (the Harman incident) and aggressive homophobe. Hopefully the Conservative Party will eventually find some sort of moral compass and sweep away her and all the blowhards like her, but I’m not holding my breath.
Look, dust yourself down and be ready to go again. Tory leadership contests come round every years on average.
Three years. Ffs. Sat in the garden with a couple of beers dreaming of some sort of Blairite centre left utopia and apparently I can't type properly.
I really want to take a tour of Daily Express HQ. I'm sure there is a portal or wormhole in there to a parallel universe.
