Intelligent, articulate, independent and, best of all, an ant-racist who thinks racism is bad, rather than the "answer". If she was my daughter, I would be proud.
As most conservative comentators are saying; to know who the left as tori leader, see who they denegrate and insult the most. I thank them for their recommendations.
Tobias Ellwood loses the whip (and his vote in the leadership contest later today) for not returning from Moldova quickly enough to pay homage to dear leader and help the government win its knife-edge confidence vote: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-62221445
Badenoch ejected. Looks very much Truss v Sunak. Have to say that's a top result for the opposition parties.
I think you’ll find the hate towards Mordaunt is coming from the right. She’s simply not barmy enough for you losers.
That's possibly the one vote that Mordaunt has lost that the press are crowing about as being asignificant indicator that her campaign is losing traction.
Votes reset. So out of the 3 it has to be Mordaunt doesn't it? Rishi is too tarred with the Boris brush and the Tory faithful just don't like his high taxes. Truss has a woeful lack of cheese knowledge.
At least if it ends up being Sunak or Mordaunt we’ll get a sensible grown up in charge for a couple of years.
I'm just looking for the biggest dictionary I can find so I can see if there's any difference in meaning to the words "sensible" and "grown up" to the ones I already know.
There will be a toilet in your house that you can flush money down with greater ease, should you be in the mood again.
It’ll be Truss. Any tears I shed may be laughter, they may be deep sorrow for our Country. They may be both.
Amazing to think Truss is in the running after her "sovereignty" snafu. https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...oesnt-understand-ukraine-conflict-2022-02-11/ The fact that someone so incompetent is even within shouting distance of being our next PM is beyond shocking.
Truss has the momentum - Iain Duncan Smith Be like Iain, wear yours with pride even if it chafes a little.
Before some Tory or other on here wails but you haven’t given the new PM a chance, let’s be clear. None will be granted. All chances were extinguished long ago.
On the rare occasions I have a flutter these days, I actually go in to a bookmaker and fill out a betting slip, so I don't think cashing out was an option
Are you still living in the 90s? First & last time I went into a bookies was a good 25 years ago as a lunchtime punt with a work colleague. I put 2 quid each way on a horse at 200/1. It came in 2nd. Needless to say I decided to retire my in person betting career. I have since lost that amount many times over on-line but that's different.
Surgical Truss. Mail and Express grimly determined she should win. They are the only papers not leading on the heatwave. Possibly because they followed the Government line (or ordered it) to play it done and accuse anyone concerned of being ‘snowflakes’.
According to thikipedia: Truss derives from the Old French word trousse, from around 1200, which means "collection of things bound together" What things, I can only guess. If rags like the Mail and Express are backing her then surely this is a sign.
This clip of her at the 1994 Lib Dem conference tells you all you need to know. Look at me. https://twitter.com/labour_history/status/1547507875202875393?s=21&t=XLBcengCph1-Mqtv_Rr-Hw
As Tory candidates scramble to offer the membership daft things, Sunak pledges to keep the ban on onshore wind farms. My guess is he was in accommodation with air-conditioning yesterday.
In 2014 I paid £2 for a World Cup sweepstake ticket at work. I drew Argentina and won £20. I opened a SportingBet account and over the last 8 years I have placed a handful of bets on WFC. This morning the account has a balance of £38.56. For 2022/23 they are offering 13/2 for WFC as champions and 19/10 for promotion. I might put a tenner on one or the other.
